The Russian Army attacked five railway stations in central and western Ukraine on Monday, confirming Moscow's attempt to “systematically destroy” the country's infrastructure, according to the officials of the Ukrainian railways.
“Russian troops continue to systematically destroy railway infrastructure. This morning (Monday), in one hour, five railway stations in central and western Ukraine were attacked,” published the executive director of Ukrainian Railways, the state-owned railway company, Oleksandr Kamyshin.
As explained on his Telegram account, the head of the company, at least 16 passenger trains had to be stopped. “Casualties have been reported, we are trying to clarify the information,” Kamyshin added.
The head of the public railway company also said that there is no electricity in the catenary on three railway lines in the country due to damage caused by Russian bombings on traction substations.
In light of the situation, trains passing through these sections, some of which are used by citizens fleeing bombed areas, have been delayed.
Various sources have unofficially indicated that there were up to seven targets hit by missiles of Putin's forces and that the list of sites attacked is as follows: Zdolbunov, Kazatin-2, Krasnoye, Podolskaya, Sknilov, Slavuta and Fastov.
