Eduardo Ramírez Velázquez, better known as his stage name Eduardo España, has positioned himself in the taste of the Mexican public thanks to his career of more than 20 years behind the small screen and in which he has also served as a producer, director, presenter and performer.
On this occasion, also known as Lalo España was in The Interview with Yordi Rosado, where they addressed various topics such as the tortuous experience of the death of his younger sister, his friendship with Alejandro Fernández, his time at Otro Rallo where at the time he did not want to participate, as well as the emergence of her two greatest roles on the Televisa screens, Margara Francisca and Germán Martínez.
The 50-year-old comedian recalled with nostalgia his first approach with Mrs. Margara Francisca, who was born during a meeting that took place in Otro Rollo to seek proposals for the second season of El Gran Carnal, a parody of Big Brother that took place in the show.
The story itself recalled that the character at the time was “the most censored character in the history of Mexican television” and detailed where he got the first ideas to be able to impregnate them in his character: “I proposed it, I asked if we could propose characters in the Gran Carnal which was the parody of Big Brother and they said yes. Then I had an answering machine with several roomies actors in my house in Colonia Roma, I made voices and sometimes did it with a very peculiar voice.”
“I really like working with biographies, so I did his story, his whole story, I proposed it and it was a madrazo. She would censor her swear words, I thought everything,” the Mexican comedian recalled to the questions of Yordi Rosado, his former partner in Otro Rollo.
“I'm very fond of him, but he hasn't pigeonholed me. In this country if you make humor and are media, you risk a lot of getting stuck in a character. I am grateful to Margara, I enjoy it too much, I embrace her, but I have tried to make soap operas. I want to strengthen and take risks, I am very interested in getting out of the comfort zone,” he emphasized.
On the other hand, the theater producer also addressed the occasion when he said goodbye to his colleagues from Otro Rollo, to join the ranks of Vecinos, where he would give life, to this day, the young Germán Martínez, with whom he has achieved international success: “I have lived some experiences with German, which I don't pay for them with nothing, because they go beyond money”
Derived from this situation, the story recalled how his famous phrase What a melodic was born within the Televisa production: “I proposed it to Eugenio Derbez, to Elias Solorio and the team [...] they write it to me, but I put him in, I change him, I put him on”, he argued.
To conclude, Eduardo España highlighted the virtues of his character, as well as his personal view of the series, which barely concluded its 12th season last Sunday, april.
“For me doing Germán is wonderful to do it, because he is an anti-hero, he is a cynic, he is brash. The type of neighbor characters are characters that you want to embrace, because they have all the behavioral vices with which we can identify, we can see someone reflected [...] You see each character there that reflects a series of behavioral vices, but that touched with comedy they become charming”, he concluded.
