A 31-year-old girl was rescued after being held captive for more than 20 years inside her home in Lima's San Juan de Lurigancho district. The mother of the minor had to go to the National Police to release her daughter after her ex-partner prevented her from seeing her for a month. The woman was found in the midst of dirt, abandonment and with signs of psychological alterations.
Elvio Jesús Huamán (55), who was inside the so-called 'House of Horror', wanted to prevent the police from inspecting the place and from reaching the second floor of the house where they finally found his daughter surrounded by disorder, things piled up and in unsanitary conditions.
The relatives accompanying the 31-year-old's mother managed to clean her and transfer her to the Cayetano Heredia hospital, while Elvio Jesús Huamán was arrested by the PNP and taken to the district police station.
According to family testimonies, the victim's mother had to escape the violence and threats she suffered from this subject six years ago. They even revealed that both she, the rescued young woman and another of her daughters have lived a complete hell at her side because on more than one occasion they have been victims of violence, physical and psychological abuse.
They also indicated that one of the man's reasons for locking the girl up for more than 20 years was when she told her mother that she had been sexually abused.
“They have always been locked up, the man had her threatened. He once said to him 'What do you want, work or your life? ' grabbing it from the edge of the ladder with the intention of throwing it. She has escaped from that house,” said one of the relatives, who added that the woman “filed the complaint on April 9 and since they did not open the door for them, they withdrew.”
The 55-year-old man was also accused of threatening his ex-partner and his second daughter with a gun, who also escaped from that house tired of his father's mistreatment.
“We don't understand why she was locked up by so many. We knew she was a little bad, but we didn't ask any more because he is a very reluctant person. We always saw her as a normal child, but all this was after the girl confessed that her father had sexually abused her,” another family member stressed.
HOSPITALIZED
According to the latest reports, the young woman is still waiting to be subjected to various psychological and psychiatric examinations after refusing to pass the medical examinations of the legal doctor.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Women's Affairs reported through its social networks that “since yesterday, the MIMP #ProgramaNacionalAurora lawyer has been acting ex officio in the case of a woman who was the victim of alleged psychological and sexual violence by her father, who kept her in detention for more than 20 years”.
He added that “before the National Police it was requested to make the testimony of witnesses, a new legal medical examination and an interview on the Gesell camera. In addition, complaints were filed for physical violence in the form of negligence in order to issue protective measures. The psychologist also provided guidance to the victim's family. We will continue to be vigilant in this case to find justice for the victim.”

On the other hand, Elvio Jesús Huamán was ordered to be released due to “lack of evidence and evidence” and he changed his detention status to that of the aforementioned one and he must go this morning to give his statement to the Prosecutor's Office of San Juan de Lurigancho.
