Some Mexican actresses have spoken out on their social networks about the terrible tragedy that has shocked Mexico in recent days: the case of the young Debanhi Escobar, the law student in Nuevo León whose body was found lifeless in the cistern of a motel after being missing for 13 days.

It was the presenter Natalia Tellez who regretted what happened to the 18-year-old and sent a message against the gender-based violence that women face in the country. The actress of the series Ninis also said that society should not normalize femicides or other types of violence.

“Everything hurts, it hurts daily, we can't get used to it, this cannot be normalized, it has to scandalize and frighten us because its steps are ours and those we love! What is the message in this country? What “it doesn't matter”? That there's nothing going on? How many are we????? #mexicofeminicida #juntastodas” could be read on his Instagram one day after they found Debanhi's body.

The host of Netas divinas shared her lament with the illustration made by user @CarlosArizpe85, inspired by the photograph that went viral when the disappearance of the young woman who went with a group of friends to a party was announced.

This Saturday, April 23, actress and theater producer Rebecca Jones joined the indignation and released on Instagram a critique of the crisis that is being experienced: “This women's camp that has become Mexico. What is the message in this country??? What doesn't matter? That nothing is going on? HOW MANY ARE WE ALREADY???? 21,000??? Indolence hurts #mexicofeminicida”.

Among the comments, that of former vedette Anel Noreña stood out, “It is very sad to see how many generations go by and continue to attack us and take away our girls from the future #mexicomedueles,” wrote from her official account the mother of José José's children.

Actress Thelma Madrigal reacted with a sad face to the publication and, for her part, actress Paulina Goto posted some messages on her Twitter account: “Make a thousand pages that say 'a gender crime is always the responsibility of the State and the perpetrators”.

Goto expressed his indignation with a series of messages pointing out doubts and alleged inconsistencies surrounding the case: “Debanhi Escobar disappeared on April 9 in Nuevo León, Mexico. After 13 days of searching, her body was found lifeless a few meters from where she was last seen. Debanhi was found in a place that had already been 'investigated' by the authorities, and where they said, there was nothing.”

For her part, actress Claudia Álvarez also published a strong message highlighting the importance of love: “It all starts at home, in the environment that grows up a child who can see violence normal. No one deserves to end their life that way. It's time to implement love, in every step we take in our lives, from the person you don't know and you cross paths on the street to the people closest to you. Love, love and more love is what the world needs and it is obvious that these acts do not go unpunished,” he wrote.

TV Azteca host Mónica Garza also spoke about the impact of the death of the young woman, whose disappearance at dawn on April 8 in the middle of the road has generated great unknowns and even the Secretary of Security of Nuevo León admitted that her search was “a massive human failure”.

“Debanhi's death is a reflection of the terror that is being experienced throughout the country in the face of the disappearance of women and the crimes linked to them. As in Oaxaca, where trafficking is increasing and they say, 10,000 pesos are offered per girl.”

For her part, the presenter Cecilia Galliano used her Instagram to position herself as the mother of a girl: “'My daughter is dead and I don't know what to do', words of a father with a pain that I can't imagine. Because what right do you have to take them away from your parents, siblings, family, friends. Justice, the least that can be demanded. As the mother of a girl I ask enough of having to live with fear. Feminicidal Mexico.” wrote the Argentinean based in Mexico.
