The violent event at the Sierra Nevada Stadium during the 17th match between Unión Magdalena and the Barranquilla Junior, which left the death of one dead, Brandon Somoza Gutiérrez, alleged member of the band 'Los Colinas' of Santa Marta, forced the president of the Dimayor, Fernando Jaramillo, to demonstrate who extended his condolences to the victim's family, but also reproached the violent acts and pointed out that national football could not be allowed any more acts of this kind.

Fernando Jaramillo said that decisive action must be taken to stop such events: “The Dimayor commission is going to meet very soon, I think it will be tomorrow and a drastic decision will be taken by them. On the other hand, the national commission for safety, comfort and coexistence in the stadiums will surely take them to meet and take action in this regard.”

The violent battle in the 73rd minute, which ended up taking the brawl from the grandstands to the field of play, forcing players and referees to flee to the dressing rooms, is due, according to the president of DIMAYOR, to individual behavior.

“There are security protocols, protocols that before starting the matches are agreed with the local security commission, with the police, the authorities and all this is implemented. The thing is that unfortunately these are individual behaviors that affect all football, we hope that both the Prosecutor's Office and the authorities will be able to prosecute those people,” said Fernando Jaramillo.

On the possible sanctions that the teams could face, he added:

This April 24, at 6 pm, the capital's classic will be played between Millonarios and Independiente Santa Fe, which is why Jaramillo extended the invitation to live in peace and that football is not tainted by violence.

Regarding the capital's classic, the District announced that the foot of force will be increased to receive about 32,000 people. In addition, he pointed out that at each of the entrances the respective checks will be carried out to verify the document and identity of each of the attendees at Nemesio Camacho El Campin.

A fact for the match between the Ambassadors and the Red Express is that, as before, the District allowed the entry of instruments, chopped paper and colored extinguishers for the Bogotá football festival.
