National Police attribute death of patrolman in Bolivar to the Gulf Clan

General Jorge Luis Vargas Valencia attributed to the 'Golf Clan' the events recorded last Thursday, April 21 in the municipality of Zambrano, in the department of Bolívar, where patrolman Francisco Javier Pacheco Orellano was killed. In addition, the National Police announced that it will give 100 million pesos in reward to whoever gives information.

“#NosDueleATodos the murder of #HéroeDelCuadrante, patrolman Fabian Berrío, while working for the safety of the Sucreños. Like those who attacked our cops in #Bolívar, these criminals will have no escape. My condolences to his family,” Vargas Valencia said on Twitter.

He added: “We offer up to $100 million for information leading to the capture of those responsible for the attack that cost our patrolman Francisco Pacheco his life this morning in #Bolívar. We give precise instructions to capture the murderers. #NosDueleATodos”.

These events were recorded at kilometer 1 of the road that connects Carmen de Bolívar with the municipality of Zambrano. Precisely there he was approached by four subjects who were mobilizing on motorcycles carrying a rifle and pistol, who opened fire on the public forces, managing to hit the uniformed man five times.

In addition, deputy mayor Jaime Garavito was injured, who was hit by a bullet in the abdomen, and a civilian who was identified as José David de Ávila de Ávila de Ávila. According to police information, the incident was committed by an individual known by the alias Cholo and three other men traveling on motorcycles, who in turn received orders from the local leader, alias El Grande.

“The perpetrators traveled by motorcycle, and according to the evidence and material evidence found at the scene, they carried AK-47 7.62 and 5.56 caliber rifles, and 9mm pistols,” said the Director-General of Police.

“The murder of Patrolman Francisco Javier Pacheco Orellano hurts us all. We send a message of solidarity and strength to his family and assure him that we will bring to justice those responsible for this regrettable event,” the Bolivar Police said a few days ago.

Meanwhile, Colonel Héctor Giovany González Ríos, departmental commander of the Bolivar Police, expressed himself regarding what happened in the morning hours: “From the Bolivar Police Department, we sympathize with the family of our hero, patrolman Francisco Javier Pacheco Orellano of the Police Traffic, who offers his life in the line of duty. His death will not go unpunished. God and Patria,” the official said on his Twitter account.
