Emmanuel Macron celebrated his re-election: “Today they chose a humanistic and ambitious project for the independence of our country”

The French president thanked his voters for the possibility of having 5 more years in power

“First of all, thank you,” said Emmanuel Macron in his victory speech. “After five years of transformation, of happy and difficult hours (...) this April 24, 2022, a majority has made the decision to trust me,” the president congratulated himself.

The French entrusted a new five-year term this Sunday to centrist president Emmanuel Macron in the ballotage against Marine Le Pen, who despite losing achieved the best result of the extreme right in a presidential election in the country. The official results, with 58% of the votes counted, give it 52.8% of the votes compared to 47.2% for Le Pen.
