Diego Enríquez, figure of Binacional: “I'm showing that a young goalkeeper can save on a professional team”

The goalkeeper of the pointer confessed to Infobae exclusively and confessed that he works to reach the absolute Peruvian national team.

At home, the Guillermo Briceño Stadium in Juliaca, Binacional, won a victory against C. Mannucci for the 11th date of the Peru - Liga 1 Betsson 2022 tournament. The goals of the match for the home were scored by Jacson Pita (17′ 1T) and Victor Cedron (36′ 2T). While the away goal was made by José Rivera (11′ 2T).

With this result, Binacional became the new leader with 22 points and now next weekend will visit Sporting Cristal for the 12th date of Liga 1.

One of the figures in the cast of Wilmar Valencia is Diego Enríquez (Abancay, 2002) is the revelation goalkeeper of the Liga 1 Betsson. Because of his great saves, he won the title at Binacional and has been key in the good time of the 'Mighty of the South'.

Infobae called Diego Enríquez after the victory against Carlos A. Mannucci and told us a little about the key to Binacional's good time and his goals for this season.

Congratulations on the year with Binacional, today at the top after winning Mannucci, what is the key?

It was a difficult match, now, the teams going to Juliaca raise a defensive issue, and well it is a little more complicated for us, the key would be the patience of the team that gradually comes to the attack to have the opportunities and yesterday we scored two goals and thank God we were able to win. Very happy about that

How do they take now that they are leaders and what to do to repeat the 2019 campaign?

Calm down, step by step, I think the championship is long, now we rest leaders beating Mannucci. Also, it's time to wait for the result of Sport Huancayo. We have to go step by step, it is a long championship and we have a great team to fight the Apertura, Clausura and the National Championship and we are working for it.

You being so young in a position that there is no rotation, how do you take the opportunity of Professor Wilmar Valencia?

There is always that thought, that the archer has to be older to be a starter. I am demonstrating that a young goalkeeper can measure up to save on a professional team. Very happy and grateful for the confidence of Professor Wilmar, who from the first match told me to do what I did in training. He gives me all the support and keep it that way. My personal goals are to continue having continuity in Binacional and being able to become champion is the group goal. We are working hard for it and we are very happy with how the team is doing.

You still belong to Sporting Cristal, I imagine that at some point you would like to come back?

Yes, I belong to Sporting Cristal, I have a contract until 2024 and I am on loan throughout the year at Binacional. In the future it would be nice to cover there, but now I am focused on Binacional one hundred percent, working hard to remain one of the revelation archers and to continue working to win the championship.

Who do you admire as an archer?

The goalkeeper I always follow is Ederson, the Brazilian. I think his game is very similar to mine. I always see him on weekends to copy the good things he does and he is always a reference for me.

How do you do with the university I understood that you were studying law at the University of Lima?

There are some classes that are virtual and the university supports me. I think that I am going little by little in the race, since, I am in the fifth cycle, almost half of the entire profession and we are gradually taking study and football together.

Do you long to reach the national team and have they contacted you?

Yeah, of course, I've been working to make it to the senior team. I have been to all the minor teams and it would be a great dream to be in the absolute. I haven't had it with you yet, but yes, I'm still at this level and trying my best, I think the call may come. All that remains is to continue working with humility and hopefully it will be soon, since it is the dream I have as a child.
