The Nuevo León State Human Rights Commission (CEDHNL) issued an alert to Debanhi Escobar's public opinion and family members about the alleged fraud of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) identified as the International Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). Omar Tamez, who claimed to be the Federal Commissioner of that commission, stated that the young woman had been the victim of sexual abuse and assured that he requested a second expert from the State Attorney General's Office (FGE).

“In the context of the disappearances of women in Nuevo León, the State Human Rights Commission reports that it is not related to the civil association called the International Human Rights Commission Mexico, nor to Mr. Omar Tamez, who claims to be Federal Commissioner, and therefore dismisses itself from any action taken by the latter organization”, reads in the statement issued on CEDHNL's social networks.
