The incident was recorded in the rural area of the municipality of Sabanalarga, Atlántico. The criminals reportedly sexually abused a woman in the middle of a robbery.
According to the authorities' report, the case occurred in the Charca de Lata sector, when a married couple was approached by two criminals, who had firearms.
After stealing his motorcycle on the way to his home, criminals drove them to a mountainous area of the municipality and sexually assaulted the woman, while the man was tied by his hands and feet and forced to see the aberrant scene.
After committing the crime, the hooded subjects fled with the stolen motorcycle, unable to be identified.
The victims' calls for help were heard by neighbors, who called the authorities. The victims were then transferred to the local hospital in that municipality, where they were evaluated by doctors.
According to the newspaper El Heraldo, he met a witness who said that the criminals took a rope and tied the man and later gagged the woman to sexually abuse her. Everything was committed in front of their comrade, who was threatened, “they were intimidated with a firearm, type 38 revolver, and they did everything there”, explained the witness.
The Metropolitan Police is making the appropriate efforts from the institution and accompanying the couple involved.
In the Atlantic, more than 45 people have been seized for the theft of motorcyclists and more than 90 such vehicles have been recovered.
The Attorney General's Office announced the prosecution of several members of a gang called 'Los Costeños' dedicated to extorting people in the Atlantic.
According to the authorities, these people offered transportation services to catch their victims. Investigations carried out by the Prosecutor's Office established that subjects transported citizens to unpopulated areas under deception and then extorted money from their families.
“The defendants apparently offered public transport services and once the victims hired them, they were taken to unpopulated areas of the department of Atlántico, where they called their families and demanded large sums of money, in exchange for not threatening their lives,” explained the investigating body.
The members of 'Los Costeños' were captured by members of the Gaula of the Police and the National Army in seven raids and searches carried out in the departments of Magdalena, Norte de Santander, Meta, Antioquia and Bogotá.
The seven persons who were captured by the authorities, three men and four women, reported by the events described above, were prosecuted for the crime of aggravated extortion. According to the information provided by the Prosecutor's Office, none of those arrested accepted the charges.
The captured criminals were identified as: William David Castro Caballero, Luis Beltrán Jimenez, Jersson Javier Gomez Neuta, Martha Yaneth Castellanos Navas, Edith Milena Salazar Villegas, Diana Karina Mendez Moreno and María Fanny Gomez Zuluaga.
