On April 16, Cristian Camilo Sedano and a colleague were in the vicinity of the Arzobispo River, in the area known as the Park Way, in Teusaquillo, when they were approached by about five criminals who intimidated them with sharps to steal them. During this situation, one of the five men stabbed the young man.
According to some accounts, Cristian Camilo's friend, who was not attacked during this robbery, asked some people for help but they were delayed in assisting them, until he passed a quadrant of the National Police. T he was transferred to the Palermo Clinic, located one kilometer from the scene, and hours later he died.
After the tragic outcome of the events, the Bogotá Metropolitan Police announced a reward of 20 million pesos for information that would allow those responsible for the murder of the young industrial design student of the Jorge Tadeo Lozano University to be captured. “We have announced this reward and we are moving forward at a good pace with the investigations, we have already established that five people participated in this event and we will soon find these criminals who caused this tragic event,” said Colonel Edgar Cárdenas.

He also recalled that the last time they saw him was on April 15 when he went to visit them in the Minuto de Dios sector in Bogotá. “The last thing I said to him was: son how rich you are here sharing with your cousins,” his father assured.

“I liked that besides being father and son, we were friends, we shared a lot of things. The best thing he had was his personality, he was so cheerful, he had big goals, he proposed something and he succeeded. It was never conflicting, they always wanted it everywhere. I had the energy to reach people, I always said that my son was going to go far, he was very smart,” said César Sedano.
The National Police and the Prosecutor's Office continue to contact the victim's parents and inquire about the events that ended Cristian Camilo's life in the midst of the robbery in the town of Teusaquillo. So far, most of these offenders have been confirmed to be of foreign nationality, but they still do not find their whereabouts.
According to Defense Minister Diego Molano, the National Government seeks to increase the number of police officers on the streets of the city from 18,000 to 22,000. While this is happening, this Saturday, April 23, on the cycle route of race 17 with Calle 40 A, at 5:30 p.m., residents of the sector will hold a velathon in memory of Cristian Camilo.
