Daniel Galán continues to celebrate one of the best positive streaks of his career in 2022 after this Friday afternoon, April 22, he overtook his quarter-final rival at the 2022 ATP Challenger Tallahaseee, in the United States.
Galán Riveros, current 113 racket in the ATP ranking, won his third consecutive victory in the competition, beating in two sets [6-3] and [6-4] Japanese tennis player Yosuke Watanuki, number 266 in the world championship.
After an hour and 16 minutes of the game, the 25-year-old Bumanguese athlete beat the Asian forcefully at the Stadium Court of the Forestmeadows Tennis Complex, in the capital of the state of Florida.
Using his opponent's precision errors, Daniel took the final advantage in a powerful serve that could not be answered slightly by Watanuki and led to the final out to sentence the triumph in the 42-minute second set.

Thanks to this victory, Daniel Elahi is among the top four competitors of the open held in the Florida state capital. He will now have to advance on the road to a new US title against the American, Michael Mmoh (ATP # 198), in the duel to be played at 12:20pm Colombian time on Saturday, April 23.
The American tennis player comes from beating compatriot Aleksandar Kovačević 2-0, with partials of [6-2] and [7-6].
In his debut for the Tallahassee ATP Challenger 2022, Daniel had beaten Argentine player Andrea Collarini and then did the same against Australian Jason Kubler, so, for now, this is how the competition qualifying table progresses until this Friday, April 22:
It should be remembered that this year Daniel has already won two titles, since last week he won the ATP Challenger of Sarasota, also in Florida, United States, and in January he won the title of the ATP Challenger in Concepción 2022, in Chile.
In the twenty-second edition of the competition, it may be the first time that a Colombian competitor has won this tournament in the men's individual category.
The winner of the tournament will earn $7,200 and 80 points for the ATP ranking. In case of winning this tournament, the Colombian would have the opportunity to access, for the first time in his career, the top 100 professional tennis players, an achievement that was already achieved by the North Santander María Camila Osorio (current number 55 of the WTA ranking) at the age of 20, but in the women's international tennis branch.
As for the doubles modality of the current ATP Challenger in Tallahassee, Colombian tennis player Cristian Rodríguez is participating and qualified for the quarterfinals along with his Ecuadorian formula, Diego Hidalgo.
After beating the duo made up of the Indians Yuki Bhambri and Saketh Myneni forcefully, the South Americans are also installed in the round of the best four participating pairs.
