* The Ultras left the court before the end of the match in protest
They had promised in the week and fulfilled: a group of Paris Saint-Germain fans left the court in the middle of the match against Lens, despite the team winning 1-0 with a spectacular goal from Lionel Messi and was securing the crown in Ligue 1.
The event took place shortly before the 75 minutes of play, when expectations were already focused on the grandstand that usually houses the Ultras of the Parisian cast in the Parisian Park. Through a statement on their official social media profiles, fans had warned that they were going to leave the court before the end of the match against Lens on the 34th date of the French tournament.
Although the cast of Mauricio Pochettino had everything given to raise the tenth Ligue 1 in its history four dates before the end of the championship, supporters felt that the season did not live up to expectations after being left out in the Champions League round of 16, but not being able to fight in the Champions League Cup either. France (they were eliminated by Nice in the round of 16) and lose the French Super Cup against Lille.
“In the next PSG-Lens match, our club could be crowned French champions for the tenth time in its history. In this event, we invite all Parisian fans to come and celebrate the title with us outside the stadium, against Virage Auteuil from the 75th minute onwards, if the score is favorable to us. We will leave the rostrum to meet in front of Virage Auteuil to celebrate the end of a season in which only fans were up to the task,” he announced in the statement.
At 75 minutes, they complied and a group left the stadium seats. To top it off, Corentin Jean scored the tie for Lens when regular time was up and put PSG's coronation at risk.
Finally, with the 1-1 draw, the French capital team won the tenth Ligue 1 in its history to beat Olympique Marseille and match what was done by Saint-Étienne. It should be noted that after celebrating in 1986 and 1994, PSG won eight of its ten titles from 2013 onwards.
