Twitter verified Ingrid Betancourt's account after she was impersonated to her voice

One of the applicants for succeeding Iván Duque denounced that they were impersonating her; in the false account there are criticisms against members of the Historical Pact

In the middle of the election campaign, presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt denounced that unscrupulous people created a fake Twitter account impersonating her. What is more, he even assures that he is impersonated not only by publications, but also by his voice.

In fact, she says that those who stole her identity on Twitter used the same username (the @) and created live meetings on the social network, called Space; there, apparently, they gave opinions on behalf of the Oxygen Green Party candidate to make her look bad.

The controversy arose after videos and captures were released on social networks that show that Betancourt was talking to her audience. When she realized it, she proved that it was a fake account that already had more than 11,000 followers.

Once the candidate began to report the profile, which had the same profile picture, cover photo and even the same biography, the authors of that fake profile wrote next to the name that it was a parody account.

However, the former congressman did not rest until the Twitter board verified her official account, which ends in the lowercase letter L and not with a lowercase I, which was what Twitter users used to impersonate her on the bluebird platform.

If you have doubts, keep in mind that the real profile of Ingrid Betancourt is the one that appears with the blue verification pimp and where she has more than 45,000 followers.

The issue of Betancourt's fake account caused even more controversy after the singer Marbelle, through her Twitter account, decided to spread a post made by the fake account; something she didn't notice and where she said: “Theodora, I've always waited for this moment when you pay for your crimes. Good thing between heaven and earth there is nothing hidden and the truth came to light. The pain of others is not negotiated by votes. #GustavoRenuncie”.

The comment was a direct criticism of the senator-elect of the Historical Pact, Piedad Córdoba, who has been linked to being alias Teodora, a alleged trafficking by the extinct FARC guerrilla group.

The criticism and comments were not long in coming for the singer known as the 'queen of technocarrilera', who, through other publications, assured that she already knew it was not an official account, but that she really liked the message, which is why she decided to share it also on her networks “That of Ingrid is a fake account”, said a user to Marbelle, who replied, “But it looks cute”.

In another triune, a person responds, “Oh, like Marbelle, not knowing how to differentiate between an official account and one paid for uribism, you can't stop humiliating yourself one day”, to which Marbelle responds, “obviously it's fake, but the tweet is spectacular”.

We must not forget that, although those trills of Betancourt against Cordoba were false, in days ago he has sent harsh comments against her. “Gustavo Petro has already made it to the second round. He organized that quota very well, he organized it with machinery. When he talks about corruption, I shudder because his lists are very corrupt characters. (...) -In petrianism- There are people accused of having been the procurers of the kidnapping and this is talking about Piedad Córdoba, who is under investigation by the Supreme Court of Justice,” said Betancourt, candidate for Oxygen Green.
