The heartfelt message of Debanhi's best friend after her death and the tribute they will give her at UANL

Through a story on Debanhi's Instagram account, it was announced that the UANL Faculty of Law and Criminology, where the young woman was studying, is preparing a tribute

Next Monday, 25 April, students from the Faculty of Law and Criminology of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) will pay tribute to Debanhi Escobar, an 18-year-old girl who was found lifeless in a hotel cistern last Thursday night. This was announced through a story posted on Debanhi's Instagram account.

“Monday, April 25, 2022, starting at 10:10am, in front of the owl. Homage to our companion Debanhi Escobar, they will be able to wear purple or white, bring balloons, flowers, photos of her. All FACDYC is cordially invited to say the last farewell to our colleague, neighboring faculties, friends, acquaintances of Debanhi will also be able to join us in this tribute”, the message reads.

It should be remembered that Debanhi studied Law at the Faculty of Law and Criminology of the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), who is preparing his tribute.

Debanhi Escobar went out on April 8 to have fun at a party in the Nueva Castilla neighborhood, in the municipality of Escobedo, Nuevo León, with three friends: Ivonne, Alejandra and Jessari. According to statements, Debanhi left the scene alone in the early hours of April 9, because after an argument, her friends had retired earlier. After this, her whereabouts were not known until last Thursday, when her body was found inside a cistern, despite the fact that the authorities had been searching for her in the area for several days.

Through an Instagram account, a user who identified herself as Debanhi's best friend, dedicated a heartfelt message to her, accompanied by a collage with photographs of both since they were children. In this one, published on Friday, the young woman mentions that her best friend was taken from her, and that Debanhi had taught her the true meaning of friendship, plus that, she said, they were friends for more than 10 years.

“My heart is broken, life is very unfair, my best friend was taken from me, I can simply say that you taught me the true meaning of friendship, I will always remember you with your immense joy that you transmitted, God allowed me to be your friend for more than ten years, we had so many plans together, but now I only stay with everyone the beautiful moments that I managed to spend with you, I can't find the words necessary to convey everything I feel right now. Debanhi I love you and I will love you all my life, today you rest in heaven and become a little angel who will always be with me, fly high my child, at some point we meet again in the kingdom of heaven” (sic), the message reads.

This Saturday, following the present body mass of Debanhi Susana Escobar Bazaldúa, Omar Tamez, delegate of the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), noted that a second expert report would be requested, as there were indications that the girl had been sexually abused.

If there is sexual abuse, it is something delicate but we are going to take that for certain in the second survey, let's hope we don't delay during the course of this week so that you have this information,” he told the media.

Tamez, accompanied by Mario Escobar, Debanhi's father, said that more details of the girl's death would be revealed next week, as well as the photograph of the moment when the taxi driver, who would take Debanhi home, allegedly touches her breasts.

Until noon this Saturday, the Attorney General's Office of the State of Nuevo León, headed by Gustavo Adolfo Guerrero, has reserved information about a possible violation of Debanhi.

Omar Tamez considered inconsistencies regarding the FGE's expert reports and hopes that they will uncover more details such as how long Debanhi had been in the cistern, who would have taken his life and how he threw it into the water tank.
