13 days after her disappearance, the authorities in Nuevo León confirmed the appearance of the body of Debanhi Escobar, an 18-year-old woman who had been the victim of alleged femicide and who, according to the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR), he would also have been sexually abused.

During its search, the State Prosecutor's Office confirmed that five other bodies of missing women had also been found, of which four were minors of age, so immediately began the demand and mobilization by different groups, mainly from the feminist branch, to demand justice for all the cases that shook Mexico.

The last of them revolved around the governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García, who was reminded of one of his main campaign promises to combat violence against women, which he emphasized once he assumed power of the border state.

And it is that throughout various areas of Nuevo León, spectacular and commercial areas covered the streets, television, social networks and radio, with different related slogans.

The only one who will fight violence against women” and “If you mess with a woman, you mess with me and with all of Nuevo León”, were the main phrases remembered by citizens, so they demanded that he implement his propaganda discourse with which he came to government and do justice for all femicides registered.

There was even a post on Instagram made on November 25, shortly after taking over the state, where he stressed his campaign and mentioned that there would be “zero tolerance” against this type of abuse, exclaiming that “It was done!” with violence, so the post reappeared to show discontent.

“We have already said it and the message is very clear: if they mess with a woman, they mess with me and the entire government of #NuevoNuevoLeón. Here we are going to have ZERO TOLERANCE for those who violate a woman,” wrote the 34-year-old state president.

These types of commercials and messages to the public caused a greater echo after his last statements, because after the appearance of Debanhi Escobar, he stated that he had not seen the research folder or the videos of the case “not even when he was the governor”.

Garcia acknowledged that there are doubts in this case and therefore justified the need for the Prosecutor's Office to present all the possible evidence contained in the investigation folder in order to give greater certainty to the victim's parents and society that is appalled by this regrettable event.
