The most important competitions in Europe do not stop, although several events have already been held in the calendar, some of them leaving Colombian cyclists victories of great importance for the personal record, the team and, of course, for national pedalism. As happened with riders such as Nairo Quintana (Arkea Samsic), Daniel Felipe Martínez (Ineos Grenadiers) and Antioquia's Sergio Higuita this year with Bora hansgrohe, who won the overall rankings of four competitions: Tour de la Provence and the Alpes-Maritimes Tour in the case of Quintana, Vuelta al País Vasco for Martínez and Catalonia for Higuita.

Within the winning harvest there are also 13 stage wins so far in the 2022 season for coffee riders in 4 different continents. This positions them as one of the riders with the best results and most regularity in the first four months of the season, so they arrive as favorites in the different races.

This time the last of the three Ardennes classics is pending: the Liege Bastogne Liège in Belgium, because it must be remembered that the triptych consists of the Amstel Gold Race, which was won by the Polish Michal Kwiatkowski (Ineos Grenadiers, and the Walloon Arrow, which was left in the hands of the Belgian Dylan Teuns (Bahrain Victorious) after beat Spaniard Alejandro Valverde from Movistar.

The Liege Bastoña Liege will not be devoid of great competitors from the world squad, as almost all the teams have already confirmed their lineups for this Sunday, including some Colombians.

The first to be confirmed was the soachuno Daniel Martínez who, along with Ineos Grenadiers and his strong roster arrive, as a favorite to win the title there. Michal Kwiatkowski, Laurens De Plus, Omar Fraile, Carlos Rodriguez, Tom Pidcock and Geraint Thomas make up the English team's train.

On the other hand, Sergio Higuita, who was the great absentee in the previous two classics, will finally take the match dressed as Colombian national champion with Bora Hansgrohe in the flamenco competition. Higuita will be accompanied by its Russian co-leader Aleksandr Vlasov, Ide Schelling, Giovanni Aleotti, Cesare Benedetti, Jai Hindley and Wilco Kelderman.

Winner Anacona with Arkea Samsic continues his path as one of the strongest and most experienced gregarians of the team, alongside his leader Warren Barguil, who will be escorted by Matis Louvel, Anthony Delaplace, Élie Gesbert, Simon Guglielmi and Kukas Owsian.

Finally, Rigoberto Urán will be in competition with the EF Education EasyPost, as he announced a few weeks ago, when he answered what his path to the Tour de France would be in terms of previous competitions. James Shaw, Eiking Odd Christian, Simon Carr, Alberto Bettiol and Rubén Guerreiro complete the North American squad together with the Colombian team.

The Liege Bastogne Liege celebrates 108th editions and will be held this Sunday, April 24 and will have a total of 257.2km full of slopes that only the best in the peloton will be able to overcome to seek victory in the end.
