On Saturday morning, vallenato fans started the day with the news of the separation of accordion player Daniel Maestre from singer Peter Manjarrés, a duo that remained together for three years. The information was released by the accordion player through his social networks, stating that the decision to separate was his due to 'new paths'.

To his more than 100,000 followers, Maestre began his statement by noting that “God's plans and purposes will always be better than ours.” 'El millenial', as the 25-year-old musician is known in the Vallenato world, explained that until now his career has arrived with Manjarrés, the singer who three years ago gave him the opportunity to join his group.

In his text, he added a message of thanks to 'El Caballero' Manjarrés, a 47-year-old artist who is part of the Vallenato Nueva Ola and has a career of more than 20 years:

The accordion player also explained that his musical growth process was experienced together with his fellow group members, who were always ready to give him advice and help him improve. He made it clear that together with Manjarrés he lived great moments and the separation is not related to any difference between the two. “It is certainly a stage in my career that I will always have the best memories of.”

Although he did not give details about these new paths he will undertake, he did point out that his work within the vallenata music scene will continue. “I will continue to work for and for you, this is just beginning,” he concluded and thanked all his followers.

It is worth remembering that Daniel Maestre was crowned as children's king of vallenato in 2009 in that version of the Vallenata Legend Festival, and in 2015 he won the title of best accordion player at the Francisco El Hombre Festival. He is a native of Valledupar, but was raised in Maicao, and in 2019 he joined the group of Peter Manjarrés, after he took several months to choose the right one.

At that time, Manjarrés said that “'Dani' had been following him for a while... here he has to show his talent and he will also contribute to the musical part. This boy is going to put it up.” For now, 'El Caballenato del Vallenato' has not spoken about Maestre's farewell.

However, the artist must already be looking for someone to accompany him on the accordion in his next performances, since the artist appears in the program of the 55th edition of the Vallenata Legend Festival, which has been taking place since Friday in Valledupar, and which this year pays tribute to 'The Goldfinch', Jorge Oñate, who died on February 28, 2021.

Despite the fact that different events are scheduled throughout this weekend, it will be on April 27 the day of the shows in tribute to the vallenato composer scheduled in the Plaza Alfonso López the official opening for the V King of Kings. For that day, Peter Manjarrés appears as one of the artists who will participate, along with other important artists such as Poncho Zuleta, El 'Concha' Molina, Ana del Castillo, Silvestre Dangond, among others. The next day, April 28, he also appears with Daniel Maestre in the programming for a show at the Parque de la Leyenda 'Consuelo Araujonoguera'.
