Eduard Fernando Cardoza Giraldo, el Boliqueso, the capo of the Úsuga Clan of Colombia, remained in Mexican territory since at least 2020, but intelligence efforts coordinated by the Mexican Navy Secretariat (Semar) allowed him to be located in the country's capital, where he was detained with eight more people, luxury cars and drugs.
According to the naval unit, Boliqueso was detained since April 12 at the Coyoacán mayor's office. The Colombian National Police reported that they tracked it at various points, such as the bay of the tourist port of Acapulco.
Now, Semar has specified that this guy had been in the country for nearly two years, even before his top boss, Dairo Antonio Úsuga David, alias Otoniel, who was the main partner of Joaquín Guzmán Loera, el Chapo, fell, and Ismael Zambada García, the May, top leaders of the Sinaloa Cartel.
According to the authorities' report, Cardoza Giraldo was responsible for various illegal activities such as drug trafficking, extortion and homicide. They were investigating him since 2016, when he was arrested in Brazil, but a judge granted him freedom.
The work of Semar led to the completion of various search warrants at homes in Mexico City, until they found the alleged criminal objective in a condominium on Avenida División del Norte, Colonia el Rosario.
