After the end of the Departmental Risk Management Committee, which took place on Saturday morning, April 23, the governor of Cundinamarca, Nicolás García Bustos, decreed public calamity throughout the department, in view of the damage that has occurred in recent days due to the first rainy season of the year.
García Bustos explained that the measure was taken in order to immediately provide the necessary support and resources to the 85 of the 116 Cundinamarcan municipalities that have reported emergencies due to winter.
According to the governor of Cundinamarca, from February 2, 2021 until Saturday, April 23, the department has already accumulated 309 emergencies due to the rains in 85 of its municipalities, which, to date, have affected 4,316 Cundinamarque families.
