Alleged operator of the “Azul” Esparragoza died of an outrage in Mazatlan

Martín Humberto Ponce Felix, identified as financial operator of Juan José Esparragoza Moreno, el Azul, died after being run over when he intended to participate in the Mazatlan Motorcycle Week, since the alleged Sinaloa Cartel associate was an amateur biker.

U.S. authorities placed this guy as one of the owners or managers of seven gas station companies in Culiacán del Azul in July 2012, but since then nothing has been known about the biker.

The accident occurred on Camarón Sabalo Avenue and Ibis, in the so-called Golden Zone of the port of Mazatlan, during this April 22. Sources consulted by Infobae Mexico confirmed the identity of Ponce Felix, who turned 57 last September, according to data from the Treasury Department.

According to the reported reports, the motorcyclist was driving his BMW on the road axle, when he was hit by a recent gray Jeep Liberty pickup truck. The encounter was recorded on video, in the sight of more motorists and passers-by.

Martín Humberto Ponce Felix flew into the air, while part of the side of the motorcycle was destroyed, according to the images released about the mishap. The man lay on the roofing belt and they immediately rushed to help him.

The police were rushing traffic to make way for emergency services, while two men held a piece of cardboard to cover the body from the sun that was not mobilized until the arrival of paramedics. The alleged operator of Azul Esparragoza was injured and was taken to the General Hospital, where he lost his life.

According to reports recorded by this medium, the ministerial authorities initiated an investigation kit for the crime of wrongful death, due to the fact that the death resulted from a traffic accident on public roads.

The driver of the van was released, but his vehicle and Ponce Felix's motorcycle were secured at the Public Security and Municipal Traffic Department of Mazatlan.
