It has been a few days since Peruvian flyer Alessandro Burlamaqui will become champion with Valencia Mestalla of Group VL of the Spanish Third Division. In this way he achieved promotion to the Second RFEF.

The 20-year-old arrived in Valencia in July 2021 and had the opportunity to participate in friendly matches against Levante, AC Milan, Brentford, among others, during the preseason. Later, he appeared on bench in some LaLiga matches; however, he did not make his official debut in the Spanish tournament.

In conversation with Infobae, Burlamaqui talked about his first year with Valencia Mestalla after winning the title, the Peruvian national team and the importance of studying alongside his career as a football player.

Mestalla Valencia managed to win, how do you feel about achieving the goal with two dates left before the tournament ends?

Very happy, especially for being able to be in this great club, an institution like Valencia, which has so much history behind it. And also happy for the promotion and the year we have done. The truth is that I am happy.

How about the experience of being led by Miguel Ángulo, former player and benchmark for Valencia?

It is always nice to have as a coach someone who has played in the First Division and who is a record in the club. The truth is that it helps us to know what we have to do in the field. With his indications he makes us better. Above all, it affects the issue with and without the ball, which is very relevant.

What indications did Professor Miguel Ángulo give you the times you played at Mestalla?

He told me to enjoy to the fullest and give the highest level for the team because that is the most important thing. Influence everything we have done in training, do them in matches and a little that. He asked me to get to the area more and try to kick, fix players, face and then apply good pressure with the ball and try to guide him, and if I can steal always try to take a step forward.

What difference do you find between the Youth Division and the Third Division RFEF?

It's a different league, especially because people are amateurs, they have more experience and in the end it's another football. A more physical, contact football, which in the end we have been superior because we are technically better, just as as a group we are better. But it cost us a lot of games because there were good rivals with the ball and physically they were good, however, in the end we were successful.

When you listen to you, you seem more mature...

Year after year we always try to improve, to be in the best possible version. This year has been about learning, improving and the truth is that year after year I feel better, I feel more confident and eager to show, that people see that every effort has a reward.

In these two matches to be played in the Third Division RFEF, is the watchword to win what remains?

We are Valencia and we have to give the best possible image by facing these two matches as if they were another final. We're always going to go for victory.

After these two matches, will you train with the first team?

Now, at the moment, I am training with my team that is the subsidiary and I will continue training with them.

What do you think you need to improve to be an elite footballer?

Keep improving everything. I don't think I want to put any limits on myself and I want to give my best version and improve where I can in general.

In what position does Professor Miguel Ángulo place you?

From '8′. I have played all my life of '6′, I have no problem playing '6′, but in this case, I had to play '8′ and I have to do it in the best way

EXPERIENCE WITH THE FIRST TEAM

You had the opportunity to play a few matches with Valencia and also to be on the squad list, how was that experience?

It's a pride for me to be there. It's something I've always dreamed of since I was little, to be surrounded by great players, the best ones. At that stage what I wanted was to learn, enjoy and always help.

You played against Milan and not everyone has that opportunity. How did you feel?

Yes, it was a very nice game, which will always remain in my memory, a game that I really enjoyed as if I were a small child. It will always be a nice memory in my memory.

Did you change your shirt with any AC Milan player?

No, I kept that shirt because for me it is something very special, beautiful and I wanted to keep it as a souvenir because it was my first starting match in Mestalla in front of all my family, my friends and it was a memory that I wanted to preserve for myself.

The times you were with Valencia's first team, Professor José Bordalás talked to you, tell us what the work was like?

Whenever we went up, the people who were on the first team are super nice and friendly. They are very good people, all of them and they want to help people who come from the branch or the youth. He is a great coach who always gives us directions to improve. Emphasizing that we are better people.

What objectives do you have in the remainder of your link with Valencia Mestalla?

Try to take advantage of opportunities when you are in the first team. Try to prove and say that I can also be there, but that is work, perseverance and it will come little by little. Every season I want to improve and when the time comes, take advantage of it.

PERUVIAN SELECTION

In Peru there was a lot of expectation to see you with the Peruvian U-20 team, but due to COVID-19 the South American team was suspended, have they contacted you?

I have always said that it is an honor and a pleasure for me to wear the white and red. Due to the COVID-19 issue, I wouldn't have to play the U-20 tournament, which for me is a huge shame because the thorn of the U-17 tournament remained, which everyone knows how it ended [they were left out of the World Cup qualification due to goal difference in 2019]. However, I am available to the selection, for me it is the most beautiful and rewarding thing there is, and I will always be available to wear those colors.

When the opportunity comes to me, if it comes to me, it all depends on me, to continue working and being ready for the moment.

What would you say to the people of Peru who are always waiting for your achievements?

I thank all those people who support me and follow me. That helps me to move forward and strive. Tell them that when the opportunity comes to wear the white roja again, let them know that I will give everything for her and we will have a very good time.

YOUR STUDENT FACET

Have you finished school yet?

I am still studying, I have a month and a half of high school (pre-university), I am doing all the work and exams I have. I think that the study is very important and should be given the corresponding importance.

What do your classmates and teachers tell you when they find out you're a Valencia footballer?

They are very happy, they congratulated me and they understand that because of this situation I have, it is sometimes difficult for me to take the subject of studies up to date. But I always try to be responsible, do all the jobs and exams that are available and arrive on time for delivery.

Will you study a professional career alongside your work with Valencia Mestalla?

I plan to enter a race and be able to do it on a par with football. I'm still trying to see what I want to study. I'm not quite sure yet, I have to choose. I think I'll go for a letter race (laughs), especially for the times.
