On many occasions, users of telephone services are exposed when they receive the famous “ghost calls”, which instead of being useful to them, end up generating endless discomfort and even taking it as disrespect. To the point of carrying stress or anxiety to the frequency of these events.
The so-called “telephone spam” is repeated daily, so many affected have had to look for tools to be able to provide an early solution, such as downloading applications to mobile phones to block numbers or add them to a “blacklist” so that they are not contacted again.
WHAT ARE PHANTOM CALLS?
Connections are made through call centers, or call centers. The personnel working in these places are the operators who offer contact services in favor of private companies, such as banks, health insurance, among others.
WHY DO THEY CALL YOU UNKNOWN NUMBERS?
The simple explanation is as follows. In this type of call center services, workers work with an automatic system that randomly selects the numbers they need to call in order to offer services, products or conduct surveys.
The fact: this data from cell phone and landline numbers are part of a register to which these telephone exchanges have access.
When that system chooses the number, staff can talk to users. When those people are not in turn, and there is no one to speak, it is the moment when the awkward silence is generated and that ends up hanging up the call without receiving any response when we say “hello”.
While it helps teleoperators during their work shift, this can cause great discomfort among people who receive calls in the morning, afternoon, night and even at dawn.
One of the negative consequences generated by these practices is the blocking of numbers, receiving insults when answering the call and affects the image of companies that purchase call center services.
The best solution that users can find is to report the numbers and block them. Another option is to download an application that detects “ghost calls” so that it sends them to the cell phone forwarding to prevent them from contacting you.
HOW TO IDENTIFY AN EXTORTION CALL?
Generally, the calls they make from prisons, or that they use to scam, handle the same model of operation, people who wait for a citizen to answer, with a random number, and pretend to be a relative. They use words such as: “hello uncle”, “hello cousin”, “hello grandmother”, depending on the voice of the interlocutor. With lies they get the name of a relative and when they have the information, they proceed with the plan.
Afterwards, they ask for help because they are involved in a problem and claim that they are being held in a police station and need to be given money to be released.
Another way is that criminals call a citizen to tell them that they have won a car, a prize or something of high commercial value and that, in addition, they cause curiosity to those who answer and tell them that in order to deliver the prize, they must pay a percentage as a tax.
