Heartstopper is the new LGBTQ+ themed series that was launched in the original catalog of Netflix. The story began in 2016 as an online publication through the Patreon platform and was devised by Alice Oseman. The television adaptation of the same name follows Charlie and Nick, two high school boys who fall in love and discover themselves in their joint adventure.

A boy meets another boy. They become friends. They fall in love. When adorable Charlie and rugby fan Nick meet, they soon discover that their unlikely friendship grows into an unexpected romance. Charlie, Nick and their friends must walk that path of discovery and acceptance, offering each other the restraint they need as they learn to find their most authentic selves,” says the official premise.

Meet the main cast behind Heartstopper

Joe Locke gives life to Charlie Spring, one of the protagonists of this romantic plot. The 18-year-old actor makes his acting debut with this Netflix original production in the role of an openly gay young man who begins a romantic relationship with the most popular boy in school.

Kit Connor is Nick Nelson. Also 18, the British star is known for her roles in TV titles such as War and Peace and His Dark Materials. He has also appeared in films such as Rocketman, Ready Player One, and The Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society of Guernsey. His fictional pair in Heartstopper is a rugby player much loved by his peers and with great self-confidence, he quickly falls in love with Charlie since they sat together in a class.

Yasmin Finney debuts as Elle Argent. The actress also plays the first role of her career and puts herself in the shoes of one of Charlie's best friends. She is a transgender student who has a very positive school experience thanks to the wonderful company of her group of friends, even when the school doesn't quite accept calling her by her new name.

William Gao plays Tao Xu. Another of Charlie's inseparable friends who has proven to be truly loyal to those he appreciates and protects.

Olivia Colman as Nick's mother. The acclaimed actress and Oscar winner appears in the Heartstopper finale to put herself in the shoes of the loving progenitor of one of the main characters. Undoubtedly, one of the most pleasant surprises in this teenage fiction.

The rest of the cast is made up of Corinna Crown as Tara Jones; Kizzy Edgell as Darcy Olsson; Tobie Donovan as Isaac; Sebastian Croft as Ben Hope; Rhea Norwood as Imogen; Cormac Hyde-Corrin as Harry Greene; and Jenny Walser as Tori Spring.
