The Attorney General's Office of the State of Sonora (FGJE) undertook to resolve and give an exemplary punishment in the case of the murder of Infante Alán, who was two years old.
In the case of the infant, the head of the FGJE, Claudia Indira Contreras Córdova, issued a message updating the information regarding the case of little Alán, as well as a call to avoid this type of crime against minors.
According to the Prosecutor's message, the detainee, whose identity remains undiscovered, was arrested by Municipal Police and placed at the disposal of the entity's authorities.
He clarified that no complaint was ever filed with the agency, however, based on the first interviews, it became known that the child suffered family violence, “because the stepfather was intolerant to hear the baby's cry”.
On the other hand, they determined that multiple trauma and suffocation asphyxiation were the cause of the death of the minor. He also stressed that the body shows recent injuries of a certain age, which is why it was determined that he has the syndrome of the abused child.
The prosecutor noted that they continue to work on the integration of evidence, rulings and evidence that would lead the Judge to apply the full rigor of the Act against the detainee.
It also urged citizens not to influence such acts:
He also called for denouncing any act of violence, especially against children, noting that "denunciation is obligatory”.
Finally, he pointed out that the “only way to honor Alan is to prevent it from happening again and this is a joint work, in our society.”
The arrest of the man, who has been identified as the victim's stepfather, was carried out because of his probable responsibility for the murder of the act condemned by the FGJE.
Already during the announcement of the arrest carried out on the night of Wednesday, April 20, through a statement shared on social networks, the Prosecutor's Office asserted that it will act decisively against whoever is scientifically responsible for the murder.
The detainee was identified as the stepfather and indications place him as likely responsible for the crime. Therefore, the FGJE initiated the investigations after learning of the facts inside a home in the Villas del Sur neighborhood, in Hermosillo.
According to local media, the assault took place during 3:00 p.m. when the child's mother was away from home working. By 19:00, when he returned to the house, he realized that the child was dead.
In turn, reports from the authorities indicate that they found blows to various parts of the minor's body with the naked eye.
Police officers arrested the 20-year-old male as likely responsible for who kept his identity private. The site was attended by agents of the AMIC and the Expert Services of the Sonora Prosecutor's Office to conduct interviews and gather evidence.
On Thursday 21, neighbors along with the mother of little Alán, demonstrated touring the colony with candles in their hands and posters demanding justice for the minor.
