TV shows fight every day to win the best rating points. Television channels are betting on their best conductors and formats to win the preference of the public; however, not all ideas that can get a great reception from the public at first, manage to stay on the air and end up being canceled soon.
That is why, in this article we remind you of some of the programs that could not capture the attention of television viewers such as Siempre Gisela, which was one of the so-called “failures” of Gisela Valcárcel due to the little tune it got.
ALWAYS GISELA
In 2005, the Latina Television production announced that it would premiere a new program under the auspices of Gisela Valcárcel, “Siempre Gisela”. This is how on April 4 the television host made her appearance by performing a group dance in a sensual red dress to the rhythm of Beyoncé and Jay-Z's “Crazy in Love”.
His interview magazine and where some singers of the moment were presented, achieved around 6 rating points on its premiere date and throughout each episode he could not raise it. That is why, after 7 weeks, the popular 'Señito' said goodbye to its audience on May 20. “If one day we have to meet, only God knows. Thank you, until next time,” he said at the time.
CALLE 7 PERU
“Calle 7 Peru” was an adaptation of the reality show that was broadcast in Chile. The program was hosted by Katia Palma and Carlos Galdós. It premiered on June 13, 2014 and had only one season, in which the red and yellow team members clashed.
Despite the fact that they had well-known figures of entertainment among its participants, the program broadcast on Latina Televisión failed to win the preference of the public and due to the low rating they obtained, the production decided to take them off the air on July 18, 2014.
GIVE ME WHAT I GIVE YOU
The program “Dame Que Te Doy” was hosted by Gian Piero Díaz and Renzo Schuller from its premiere on February 22, 2011 until it retired from ATV screens in mid-May of the same year.
Although they tried to change schedules and reinforce its structure, the program could not compete against the remembered “The Last Passenger”, which took most of the audience points. The television duo was replaced by the soap opera Betty La Fea. However, they came back with 'Combat'.
CHALLENGE WITHOUT BORDERS
The competition program that Raúl Romero hosted in 2012 is added to the list of television spots that were on the air for a short time. After the end of “Habacilar”, the popular 'Cara de Haba' wanted to regain his throne in the afternoons through the screens of Panamericana Televisión.
However, only three months after its premiere it was canceled. Although, the television host stated that they had taken a pause to make some arrangements, the show did not air again.
TITANES
Vanessa Terkes and Tilsa Lozano were in charge of hosting Latina Televisión's “Titans” in 2014. The competition reality series tried to compete with Esto es Guerra y Combate, since it was broadcast from Monday to Friday from 6 in the afternoon.
The program had a different format, as the 12 participants not only competed in different events but also had to live in a house with cameras watching them 24 hours a day. Despite all this, they were only on the air for a little more than two months and on April 30 they said goodbye to the screens.
SHOWS MODE
Karen Schwarz was introduced as the new face to host Latina Televisión's renewed show program. Although, “Show Mode” began to be called only “Shows” in 2011. The latter stopped broadcasting in 2017 and after three years, they decided to return with a new name on September 2, 2020.
The magazine touched on themes of the Peruvian show and real stories. Unfortunately, on Monday, November 23 of the same year, the former beauty queen announced her last broadcast.
THIS IS HABACILAR
The most recent “failure of Peruvian television” was “This is Habacilar”. Roger del Águila and Johanna San Miguel tried to make a renewed version of the remembered “Habacilar”. However, they failed to captivate the youth audience and had to cancel the show just a month after its debut.
