THE CASE

On Monday, September 9, 2019, the quartered remains of Jafet Caleb Torrico and Rubén Matamoros Delgado were found in different districts of metropolitan Lima such as San Martín de Porres and Rimac, which had been wrapped in sheets from the Señor de Sipán hostel, in San Martín de Porres.

Perozo Borja and Diaz Colina were captured a week later in Tumbes and San Martín de Porres, respectively. The first told the Peruvian National Police (PNP) about his involvement in the crime and explained that it had all been due to a debt of drug sales.

I was hired by 'Machelo', he was the one I knew, to take the bodies from above and put them in the taxi and that's it. Then he gave me marijuana to sell. We took the bodies to Fiori (to the others) Machelo hired them, I didn't know them,” said the also known as 'Joker'.

He said that 'Machelo' had given Matamoros Delgado 50 packs of S/10 each to sell, but the victim never gave the money. About the murder of Caleb Torrico, he mentioned that it happened because he was a friend of the Venezuelan citizen.

“(The crime was given) for a drug because they never gave the money for the drug. They gave him 50 packs of 10 and he never said anything about the packages. What happens is that I heard that he was a friend of the Venezuelan,” he said.

After two weeks of the discovery, the Peruvian National Police confirmed the dismantling of a criminal organization dedicated to drug sales and prostitution involving at least 12 Venezuelan citizens.
