The champion of the Tour de la Provence and Tour of the Alpes-Maritimes this season, Nairo Quintana, looks positive and with a good attitude despite the sharp drop he had in the Turkish Tour a few days ago, which took him out of competition.

Given this, the team preferred to leave it out of the race, trying to recover its injuries better and thus maintain the physical conditions that it has demonstrated to date, being one of the best of the season for its team, Colombian cycling and the peloton in general.

Now Nairo has returned to the bosom of his home in Boyacá to raise morale to face the new challenges that await him as leader of Arkea Samsic, as he told in one of the Instagram stories in recent hours.

Although there has been talk for a few days that on April 29 the Colombian will be taking the match in the Vuelta Asturias where he has already won two titles previously, in the video he did not let it be known whether he will finally be part of his team's payroll for that competition, whose last time he triumphed was in 2021.

What he did remember was his commitment to the project that bears his name “El Gran Fondo Nairo Quintana”, which will be taking place this year in the department of Antioquia, announcing that registrations in its first phase will be closed soon, inviting his followers and those who want to participate to anticipate registration and thus participate in November in the competition of the Giro y Vuelta champion.

Meanwhile, Quintana will remain focused on the French round that will start on July 1 and run until the 24th of the same month.

There, the Boyacense will be facing the main favorites of the world squad who aspire to take dominance in the general standings from Tadej Pogacar of UAE Team Emirates, who has won the last two editions of the most important competition in the world of cycling.

For this year, Cyclingnews, a specialized cycling portal in England, has counted Quintana as one of the 10 favorites to win the title of the 109th edition of the 'Grande Boucle', along with fellow Colombian Daniel Felipe Martínez of the Ineos Grenadiers.

Both are on the list of potential winners due to the great performance they have had over the course of the cycling season. In that list they share favoritism along with Primoz Roglic of Jumbo Visma who causes doubts due to an injury to one of his legs, Adam Yates of Ineos Grenadiers, Russian Aleksandr Vlasov of Bora Hansgrohe among others.

This year Nairo would make his 9th appearance in the Gala competition that already saw him take the podium three times during 2013 when he made his debut there, finishing second overall and winning a stage, in 2015 he achieved the same result, both times behind four-time Tour champion Chris Froome and in 2016 when he was 3rd.
