Businessman Mario Hernández is another public figure who has given the most to talk about in the middle of the election campaigns, either because of his support for Team for Colombia candidate, Federico Gutiérrez, or criticizing Gustavo Petro, presidential candidate for the Historical Pact. However, on this occasion the renowned businessman launched a criticism for all the candidates, including the former mayor of Medellín.

Hernandez was quite upset with all the presidential candidates as none, so far, have spoken about a proposal to lower taxes in Colombia. In a post on Twitter, the businessman accompanied his message with an image of a newspaper cover in which the headline states: “The future of FTAs divides presidential candidates.”

Mario Hernández posted the following message with the image: “No one talks about lowering taxes to be more competitive to have raw materials and compete with imported goods”, showing his annoyance with all the presidential candidates, including Federico Gutiérrez, who he has shown sympathy on his social networks.

Mario Hernandez has been very active on his social networks and has openly demonstrated his support for candidate Federico Gutiérrez. A few days ago, he did not hide his concern about the possible arrival of Gustavo Petro as president.

When the candidate of the Historical Pact, together with his vice-presidential formula, signed before a notary and in a public document that he pledged to respect the constitution and the law, as well as that he would not carry out any kind of expropriation. This generated enormous controversy and even businessman Mario Hernández replied, “but it will raise taxes, property taxes and pension funds.”

“Let him sign that he will maintain democracy and that he will not raise taxes. We will be less competitive by increasing tariffs, everything would be more expensive and it would be necessary to return to Miami to buy the tennis,” Hernandez said on his Twitter account.

On his social networks, Mario Hernández posted a video featuring five 'caddies' (as golfers' assistants are known) supporting Federico Gutiérrez's campaign. This generated enormous controversy and many criticized the businessman for this, as some considered that everything was a montage.

“Look, President, all these golf caddies here, in Puerto Peña Lisa”, begins the video that was recorded by the businessman, who then asks them: “Who are Chinese people going to vote for?” to which they replied “For Fico!”. Then he asks them, “And why are they going to vote for Fico?” and they answered, “for change” to what Hernández added, “so that there is work, there is freedom, there is democracy. Let's all go ahead. Congratulations. Chao”.

There were so many comments made to the businessman, that in an interview with Caracol Radio he said that, “I give you the phones, I invite all of you, anyone you want, to talk to each one [of the caddies]. I am exercising the right of any Colombian: to express my opinion and vote for the best. I have been supporting 'Fico' from the start and I have been very clear: I am thinking about the community.”
