Eduin Caz, vocalist of Grupo Firme, starred in one of the moments that will be most remembered at this year's Latin Music Awards gala when it was mistaken for awards.
During the presentation of the Single of the Year award, the performer of Ya superame said: “And the winner of the Latin Grammy Music Award is... Oh no, I was wrong! ”. After his accident, he awarded Dakiti from Puerto Ricans Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez.
Later, in the face of the uncontrollable laughter of the attendees, Cortez assured that the issue with which he collaborated with Benito Martínez is breaking borders.
“Latinos are growing more and more and going further. It used to be said that Americans were inspired and today we are the ones who inspire, so Latinos this is for you,” said Jhay Cortez after the mistake of the leader of Grupo Firme.
It is worth mentioning that during this edition of the Latin Music Awards, which were held in Las Vegas, Nevada, from the Michelob ULTRA Arena in Mandalay Bay, they commemorated Lupita D'Alessio with the Legend Award, given to figures who have left their mark on music.
The Sleeping Lioness received the prize from José Luis Rodríguez, better known as El Puma, to whom she expressed her admiration by accepting the statuette.
“To Mexico that saw me grow, to Latin America and the United States thanks for this path, and to keep me alive for almost 52 years. God bless you, thank you very much,” said Lupita D'Alessio when she was awarded after holding back her tears while on stage.
On the other hand, Christian Nodal's short career was awarded when he received the Extraordinary Evolution Award, which is given to musical artists whose career succeeds rapidly.
Some of the artists who received this recognition were Maluma in 2018, Becky G in 2019 and Ozuna in 2021.
