Last Thursday night, the lifeless body of a woman was found inside a cistern, in an area near the Nueva Castilla hotel, in the municipality of Escobedo, following an operation carried out by the Attorney General's Office of Nuevo León. In that area, the disappearance of the 18-year-old Debanhi Escobar was reported missing on April 9, after having attended a party with some friends.
Although it has not been confirmed that the body belonged to the girl, the clothes, shoes and a chain found on the body belonged to the 18-year-old girl.
The search for Debanhi was intense for 13 days, and one of the places where the news spread the most, and even a last photograph allegedly taken by a taxi driver who left it on the road, was social media.
The same Instagram account of the 18-year-old was used to spread some messages, asking for help finding her. The first message requesting help to find her was posted on April 9, the day she disappeared, where it reads “Help us find her”, the data of the young woman and a photograph where she looks smiling.
The last post was published in the early hours of this Friday, where thanks are given to those who collaborated in the search for Debanhi. “With a broken heart we ask you to raise a prayer in her name so that perpetual light may shine for her,” the message reads.
However, they questioned recent news in a story for almost two weeks, and asked anyone and everyone who could access the publication that prayer be made for his rest.
Recent news were also questioned, and they questioned the method by which the Prosecutor's Office reached the motel where various revisions had allegedly already been made, according to the version of Mario Escobar, the young woman's father, to the media.
“13 days searching with binomials, drones and infantry and out of nowhere he appears in the motel,” the post reads.
Before the requests for help on the Instagram account, you can see the common posts that any young person your age would post. The last publication she made was on March 26, and they were photographs where she is seen smiling, posing on the Cerro de San Pedro, in San Luis Potosí. In total, he uploaded four photographs of that visit, and in the description he put the phrase: “I'm going to upload photos of anywhere I go.”
Mario Escobar, father of the young 18-year-old Debanhi Escobar, said this Friday morning, at an impromptu press conference, that the authorities were omissed from the start and refused to open a research folder for his daughter's friends and the taxi driver who would take her home.
Juan David Cuéllar, as the taxi driver was identified, picked up the young woman but due to circumstances, hitherto unknown, he left her on the road to Nuevo Laredo, however, he took a photograph of her where he is seen in the middle of the road, standing idly by. That was the last time he was seen alive. The image came to his parents a short time later.
Mr. Mario told the media that the Nuevo León Prosecutor's Office showed him some videos, in which it can be seen that the taxi driver who picked her up touched the breasts, without his consent, which caused Debanhi to get out of the car.
Confirmation, which will be done through DNA tests, that the body belongs to the young woman is still awaited.
