Today, the Executive Branch will hold the Sixth Decentralized Council of Ministers in the city of Cusco, in order to work on the territorial development agenda of the region and to close gaps in inequality in favor of the population. National, regional and local authorities will participate in the event, as well as congressmen of the Republic and social leaders.
The Presidency of the Council of Ministers (PCM) reported that the VI Decentralized Council of Ministers will start at 08:30 hours at the Colosseum — Casa de la Juventud.
Last Tuesday, the Government formalized, through a ministerial resolution, the creation of the technical dialogue table for the development of the department of Cusco, a body that will be dependent on the PCM.
This is a temporary working group that aims to help identify possible solutions to Cusco's social, agrarian, tourism, mining, educational and health problems.
To this end, it will analyze each of the points of the platform for struggle presented by the organizations of the region and will establish a joint work plan among the members.
TECHNICAL TABLES
On the other hand, yesterday the technical dialogue tables were set up in Cusco, spaces for meetings between the population and the sectors of the Government to agree on solutions to the different demands of citizens.
The event took place in the university paranymph of Cusco and was attended by ministers of state, congressmen, governors and mayors of the region, as well as representatives of civil organizations.
The Minister of Agricultural Development and Irrigation, Óscar Zea, welcomed the presence and willingness of the representatives of the organizations to participate in this space. It also expressed the Government's willingness to maintain dialogue.
“I am grateful for the goodwill of each of you for dialogue. The Government is willing to engage in a sincere dialogue on this day. We know that tomorrow we will have a very important day, the Decentralized Council of Ministers will take place, and what our region expects is that we will reach concrete agreements,” he said.
In turn, the Minister for Women and Vulnerable Populations, Diana Miloslavich, highlighted the participation of women in these tables to promote the development of the region and the entire country. The Minister of Environment, Modesto Montoya, expressed the importance of scientific knowledge and working together to arrive at solutions for different demands.
“We have come to solve the problems, to listen to them. Tomorrow there will be a Council of Ministers for which the Executive will move to this historic city. It is a year of difficult juncture, but we must agree and shake hands to achieve the solutions that the country needs,” he stressed.
For their part, congressmen Katy Ugarte and Ruth Luque also expressed their expectation that these tables will lead to agreements and solutions for the benefit of all. Meanwhile, the regional governor of Cusco, Jean Paul Benavente, invoked the capacity for dialogue of all parties, so that concrete results can be achieved.
The rector of the San Antonio Abad University of Cusco, Roberto Acurio, and the representative of the University Federation of Cusco, Leonela Laura, also participated in the ceremony to set up the tables.
As established in Ministerial Resolution 123-2022-PCM, these technical dialogue tables seek to contribute to identifying possible solutions to social, agrarian, tourism, mining, as well as educational and health problems, with a view to evaluating the points raised by the various Cusco civil organizations and establishing a work.
The working group number 1 will address the issues of agricultural development and irrigation, by the Minister of the sector; Table 2 will look at the problems of the economy and investment, with the participation of the PCM and ERM. This round table also includes a group that will address the demands in terms of mining and hydrocarbons, with the Energy and Mines sector.
In addition, table number 3 will deal with social development issues and will be headed by the Minister for Women. This group includes the education tables, run by the Minedu Dialogue Office, as well as the health round table, run by Pronis and Minsa. The day continued in the afternoon with the session of the working groups and the fight against corruption.
