Conmebol's harsh sanction of the player who fractured Robert Rojas in the Copa Libertadores

The Conmebol Disciplinary Court imposed a heavy sanction on Aldair Rodríguez, for the violent misconduct he committed against Robert Rojas, in the match that River Plate beat Alianza Lima 1-0 away, in the debut of the team led by Marcelo Gallardo in this edition of the Cup Liberators. The Paraguayan defender suffered a fractured tibia and fibula with a displacement of his right leg.

This Thursday, the measure taken by the Court of the South American Confederation on the move in which the Peruvian ended up hurting the guaraní player, in the Group F match of the continental tournament, was announced. Rodriguez was sanctioned with five dates.

In that instance Rojas had to leave the playing field on a stretcher with gestures of pain, and after a few minutes the diagnosis transcended, which was later confirmed by coach Gallardo and by the Núñez club, once he was ratified through relevant studies.

The Hitman returned to Buenos Aires with the rest of the millionaire delegation and was successfully operated on, despite suffering a cardiac spasm for three hours after the intervention. Robert was hospitalized in a clinic in San Isidro and as cardiological tests were satisfactory and his evolution was positive, he was discharged and slowly started his recovery with the company of his family.

Later, the defender underwent a series of cardiological studies and tests to be followed up and to rule out any type of pathology. According to what the doctors in charge indicated, no condition was found that could complicate Rojas, who will still have to undergo other analyzes before returning to the courts. Now the Paraguayan is focused on his recovery and will continue to be monitored by doctors and new cardiological check-ups to avoid any type of inconvenience.
