Next Wednesday, April 27 will be the opening of the 55th Vallenata Legend Festival in Valledupar, Cesar. After the complications of holding face-to-face events since the arrival of the covid-19 pandemic, lovers of this musical genre will soon be able to enjoy this show.
Numerous renowned artists will participate in this edition of the traditional event, not only from the Vallenato scene, but there will also be other genres such as reggaeton.
On the poster of artists that will participate in the different events held within the framework of the festival, which will close on April 30, are: Poncho Zuleta, Silvestre Dangond, Diego Daza, Churo Díaz, Beto Zabaleta, Iván Villazón, Jean Carlos Centeno, Elder Dayán, Wilfran Castillo, Rafa Pérez, Margarita Doria, Ana del Castillo, Natalia Curvelo , accordion players Javier Mata, 'Coco' Zuleta and Álvaro López, Peter Manjarrés, Hugo Carlos Granados, Paola Jara, Jessi Uribe and Manuel Turizo.
All these singers from different musical genres will perform on different stages during the festival days.
The night of the opening
Starting at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday in Plaza Alfonso López, attendees will be able to enjoy the show that will be held in memory of Jorge Oñate, 'La Leyenda'. That night will be presented the unreleased musical 'El canto de 'El Goldfinch', directed by Carlos Gardel Huertas and will feature the special presentation of Poncho Zuleta and the King of Kings, El 'Cocha' Molina.
In the musical will be the children of the Nightingale del Cesar: José Jorge, Jorge Luis, Jorge Daniel and Jorge Antonio; in addition to Margarita Doria, Ana del Castillo, Natalia Curvelo and accordion players Javier Matta, 'Coco' Zuleta and the King of Kings Álvaro López.

Prizes and requirements for contestant accordion players
For this year's version, the prize of this competition amounts to more than 400 million pesos, which will be divided into cash; musical instruments; audio technology equipment, and trophies, which will not only be given to representatives of each category who completely exalt traditional vallenato music, but also to the best voice of the musical encounter.
Regarding the requirements that accordion players and accordion players participating in the competitions of the 55th edition of the Vallenata Legend Festival must meet, the event reported that, both in the two rounds and in the semifinal, participants will not be able to repeat any of their songs performed. Likewise, professional accordioners will have to perform at least one song recorded by Jorge Oñate, in any of the four winds.
It is worth mentioning that the festival, which began in 1968, will have as its official song in this edition the production entitled 'The legend of the singer', by the composer, painter and vice-president of the Vallenata Legend Festival Foundation, Efraín 'El Mono' Quintero Molina.
