Bogotá City Hall confirmed changes in the tax calendar: these are the new dates for paying taxes

Due to difficulties in obtaining invoices on time for many citizens, the District Secretariat of Finance announced a change of date for the payment of taxes in order to prevent capital residents from being affected and in turn to provide a fair solution to the problem.

As issued in a Resolution this Friday, April 22, the new date for the payment of property tax will be until July 29. Likewise, the date with a discount for prompt payment was also modified, being now until June 24, as the entity commented:

For a few days, taxpayers had been experiencing some problems with accessing their invoices through a virtual medium that enabled the website of the District Finance Secretariat, due to the congestion that was occurring at the physical points used for this collection.

However, this virtual authorization did not seem to have a resolving effect and instead became another problem for people who tried to access their invoices to comply with the payment of property tax.

On social networks, some citizens were noted with their complaints about the mechanism, also asking for a solution, which came this Friday for many.

Now all residents of Bogotá who are obliged to pay the tax will have considerable time to obtain their invoices, since as indicated by the district authority, bills will be issued until April 30 so that each citizen can have access to this information and thus be able to make the payment corresponding, even on discounted dates, it is worth remembering will be until June 24, while the final date will be until July 29, 2022.

The Treasury Secretary, Juan Mauricio Ramírez, also recalled: “We are sending invoices physically and by mail; in addition, we have permanently enabled the invoice download button on the portal of the Ministry of Finance (SDH)”, so he recommended that there is no need to go to physical points.

The tax collected for this year in terms of property tax is expected to be more than 4 billion pesos after expecting an 11% increase in the collection of this citizen payment.
