Alejandro Marcovich, former Caifanes guitarist, confirmed that he has cancer: “I hope to continue to give money”

The musician underwent surgery for a brain tumor in July 2010, so two years ago he wrote that he was happy to have continued his career after such treatment

Recently Monica Noguera announced that Alejandro Marcovich is facing a fight against prostate cancer. For his part, the guitarist from Caifanes from 1989 to 1995 already issued a message thanking his fans for their support in the face of this disease.

In his Instagram post, the musician expressed that all manifestations of affection drive and motivate him to cope with cancer, however, he did not give details about his diagnosis or treatment. The text where Alejandro Marcovich confirmed that he has cancer was also sent to the program First Hand.

“To the public and media: I want to thank all the signs of affection and good wishes towards me and my health. All these vibrations of love, along with the support of my family, give me much more strength to win this fight and continue creating music for all of you,” the musician wrote on his Instagram account.

Alejandro Marcovich also expressed to his followers that he wants to continue making music: “I hope to continue to give you a lot of trouble with the sound of my guitar to continue building this wonderful story together. Thank you forever, Alejandro Marcovich.”, he wrote.

In the publication, the musician from Caifanes also published the video where the presenters of the program De Primera Mano, a production where his suffering was announced two days ago.

“We want to extend our sincere solidarity and support to the former guitarist of the Caifanes group, Alejandro Marcovich, because information came to the editorial office about his state of health. The musician is fighting against prostate cancer, so we hope with all our heart that he will emerge victorious from this tough battle. Alejandro, our heart with you,” said Monica Noguera.

This is not the first time that Alejandro has had health problems, because in 2010 it was revealed that he had a brain tumor. In June of that year, it was reported that the musician had been hospitalized for several days at the National Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery in Mexico City.

In the hospital he underwent different neurological studies for surgery on July 23, 2010. The guitarist was optimistic, assuring that the best doctors were treating him. The operation was successful and Alejandro returned to his activities.

Through social networks he shared what this surgery meant, what it marked, which is why two years ago he celebrated that the procedure had the best results.

“Today marked 10 years since my brain surgery. I can't be happier. Every day, every hour, every minute, every second and every breath is a miracle to be grateful for. I am,” Marcovich wrote on Instagram.

When Alejandro announced that he had a tumor in his brain, rumors began about a possible reunion of Caifanes, this after the band disbanded due to various problems. It was announced that after the other members of the group were informed about the guitarist's health, they would have decided to meet again to celebrate their artistic career as Caifanes.

Marcovich was part of Caifanes from 1989 to 1995, when it became known that due to friction between the guitarist and Saul Hernandez, Alejandro had decided to leave the band.

This would not have been the first time that this happened within the group, because before Caifanes existed, the band The Unusual Images of Aurora due to their differences.

It was until 2011 that Caifanes reunited on the stage of Vive Latino, but soon it was reported that they would continue with their original members, that is, without Marcovich.
