Jorge Luis Pinto is undoubtedly one of the most important coaches in Colombian football in the last three decades. The 69-year-old Santanderean has a long career in his coaching career that has catapulted him on the international arena.

The name of Jorge Luis Pinto has been polled in recent weeks in several teams as well as national teams who want to count on the services of the former Millonarios and Costa Rica coach.

Recently it became known that the Panamanian national team would be interested in having Jorge Luis Pinto ahead of the next qualifying process for the 2026 World Cup that will be held in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Likewise, the Colombian is not entirely indifferent to the idea of taking the reins of the canal ensemble. It is worth remembering that, in addition to the cast Tico, Jorge Luis Pinto also directed Honduras.

Likewise, Jorge Luis Pinto appreciated the growth that Panama has had in recent years and would like to be able to work with the new generation of footballers.

On the other hand, he said that everything remains in the hands of Panamanian managers who will make the decision whether to continue with the Spanish-Danish, Thomas Christiansen or give way to a new process.

It should be noted that Thomas Christiansen has a current contract with the Panamanian Football Federation (FEPAFUT) until December 2022, but so far has not reached an agreement to extend its contractual relationship with the canaleros.

For Panama, Thomas Christiansen led a total of 30 matches with 14 wins, seven draws and nine losses for a 54.4% performance. However, it failed to qualify the Central American squad to Qatar 2022 despite having a large part of the Concacaf qualifiers in the repechage zone.

Jorge Luis Pinto's last coaching job was as coach of the United Arab Emirates, where he was only in the lead for three games. During her time in Honduras, she was unable to fulfill the goal of taking her to the World Cup by falling in the play-off with Australia, while with Costa Rica she had an outstanding presentation in Brazil 2014 with which she reached the quarterfinals.
