Authorities in Quintana Roo rescued six minors who were exploited at work in the Cancun hotel zone, where they are presumed to sell bracelets to foreign and national tourists.
The Attorney General's Office (FGE) announced what happened through its social networks, as it reported that agents of the entity's Human Trafficking Investigation Unit arrested two subjects accused of having participated in the labor exploitation of children.
Both subjects will face charges for the crime in their form of forced labor, since they allegedly forced the minors to sell bracelets and handicrafts in the tourist area of the entity, since the income generated by the children went to the hands of the two detainees.
For their part, the six minors were transferred to the local vicinity of the DIF, where their status will be determined after the responsibilities of the alleged exploiters are disregarded and guardians are found to take care of them.
The operation that resulted in the rescue of the minors and the detention of two adults was carried out at kilometer 12 of the Cancun hotel zone, where FGE agents attended in the company of local uniformed personnel.
The uniformed men closed one of the lanes of Kukulkán Boulevard, a highway that leads to the nightclub area of the entity, as they installed a checkpoint to check cars that were moving in the place and thus avoid greater risks.
About 15 patrols of the State Police of Quintana Roo participated in the rescue operation, which broke up part of the network of exploiters of minors who had forced them to sell bracelets and handicrafts in the area.
In the same entity, local authorities found the lifeless body of a woman inside two abandoned suitcases in Cancun's Region 99, where a poster with a drug message that threatened various unidentified subjects was also located.
The remains were located on 8th and 58th streets in the area, as residents of the area alerted municipal police to the presence of a pink and a black suitcase on public roads, in one of which the warning was placed against individuals identified as Jordan, Hasil and Panther.
Municipal and state police cordoned off the area so that agents of the Quintana Roo Attorney General's Office could carry out the proceedings corresponding to the case, as they secured evidence and lifted the body of the place.
The discovery was made just two blocks from the Benito Juárez Social Reintegration Center in Quintana Roo, as well as one block from the colony's market, whose installation would have been suspended after the discovery.
Hours later, the body of a man was found in the sports unit of the Villas de Otoch Paraíso subdivision, where he was allegedly gunned down by armed men, this was announced by local authorities.
According to the testimony of persons present at the scene, armed subjects arrived at the scene on board a motorcycle, from which they descended to fire repeatedly at the man.
The victim received several bullet wounds to the body and head, which would have resulted in his death at the scene. Prosecution personnel found several bullet casings at the scene, which were integrated into the evidence presented to the MP.
