The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Sergio Gutierrez Luna, is once again at the center of the public eye, this time because of a video in which he played a “cascarita”.
But the indignation arose because of the court on which it took place. Since the deputy for the Movimiento Regeneración Nacional party (Morena), was recorded in a video playing with a football inside the legislative precinct.
In the 13-second audiovisual short, shared through his official Twitter account, Gutiérrez Luna can be seen throwing the ball at former footballer Luis Hernández Carreón, known as the “Matador”.
“Learning the perfect pull up and ready to score many goals Cascarita with my countryman Luis “Matador” Hernández,” wrote the president of the House of Legislators.
In it you can hear Gutiérrez Luna shouting “Hey, countryman Matador! Ready?” , to whom Luis answers in the affirmative and after a pull up with the ball, he sent it to the back of the enclosure with a kick, celebrating.
Faced with this situation, netizens, figures of Mexican politics, as well as journalists, among others, showed their indignation, who described the act as a lack of respect for the premises and the way of working of the Morenist as irresponsible.
In addition, some used the hashtag #Gutierritos, referring to the nickname given to him by deputy María Elena Pérez-Jaén to ridicule the legislator when he was referred to her as deputy Perez.
“I don't know why they are offended and demand respect from #Gutierritos, that man doesn't respect himself, much less will he respect the Chamber of Deputies,” said one user on the social network.
“Total disrespect”, “Someone let Sergio Gutiérrez Luna know that his tweet playing a 'cascarita' with the 'Matador' did not get the acceptance he expected; quite the contrary”, “We paid them to legislate, not to play”, were some of the reprobative comments towards the legislator.
Similarly, the federal deputy for the state of Nuevo León, Annia Gómez Cárdenas, published a more concise message: “I demand that you respect the @Sergeluna_S precinct”. Also, the legislator of the Institutional Revolutionary Party (PRI), Laura Barrera Fortoul, issued the demand that the Speaker of the House “Have respect for the legislature!”
Alonso Castillo Cuevas, son of Alejandra Cuevas, on the other hand, rebuked him and threw it into his face that he has not said anything about the impeachment promoted by his family against Attorney General Gertz Manero.
“Playing while silent for months. Not a word about the impeachment we initiated against Gertz, another subject of the criminal in charge of the FGR,” said the son of Alejandra Cuevas.
The journalist Laura Brugés also pointed out the contradiction that “Whoever must ensure that the @Mx_Diputados venue is used with decorum, turns it into a football field”.
On the other hand, journalist Leticia Robles de la Rosa, called it “inconceivable” and said that his way of acting was worthy of “his immediate removal”.
He was more specific and pointed out that the president of the House must ensure the inviolability of the precinct, in accordance with article 61 of the Constitution, but “in Morena's logic, how to use the venue as a football field is not in the grounds for dismissal of @Sergeluna_S, because nothing will happen”.
