Former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson repeatedly hit a passenger on a plane that was about to take off from San Francisco bound for Florida. The reason would have been that this guy was bothering the former athlete.
A video recorded with a cell phone from the cockpit shows Iron Mike leaning over the back of his seat, beating the man hard and repeatedly, in an incident on Wednesday and reported by the US news portal TMZ. The 55-year-old former boxer would have initially been friendly to the passenger and his friend when they boarded the flight, but reacted later because the man “kept provoking him”, according to the published information. The passenger “kept trying to talk” to the 55-year-old boxer, the site added.
Apparently, “Tyson got sick of the man still talking in his ear... and asked him to calm down. But the witness says he started throwing several punches at him when he wasn't doing anything.” According to reports, the former world champion got off before the plane took off for Florida.
As of Thursday, the US Police, JetBlue airline and Tyson's representatives had not commented. It is worth remembering that the legend of boxing is known for his bad behavior - he tore off Evander Holyfield a piece of ear with his teeth in a fight in 1997 -, his addiction to cocaine and its friction with the law, including a conviction for rape.
A few weeks ago, Iron Mike made headlines for a strange episode that occurred during a comedy show in a bar in Los Angeles. It was there that a man broke in and asked to fight before him to “improve” his “status”. The moment came to such a level of tension that this guy pulled out a gun he had hidden and threatened to shoot, but then he ended up hugging Tyson: “I love you Mike, if it weren't for you we wouldn't have any inspiration. I love you, truly, from my heart. Respect,” he told her excitedly.
