A little more than 45 days after the first presidential round, the candidate of the Historical Pact, Gustavo Petro, launched a manifesto in which he proposes to carry out a clean campaign, after several false news about the electoral environment took to the public scene in the country.

Through seven points, the presidential candidate said that from his candidacy he will promote the preservation of life and set aside the hatred and fear with which, supposedly, they want to stop their eventual coming to power.

Through a statement released by his campaign team, the fellow leader of Human Colombia assured that he “strongly rejects the dirty and negative campaign” and that is why he recalled that days ago went to a notary office in the company of his vice-presidential formula, Francia Márquez, to ratify that if he wins the elections he will not expropriate anyone of his property and property and therefore asked that no lies be told about it.

Along these lines, Petro and his team wanted to give some peace of mind to potential voters and that is why they announced the seven points of the manifesto with which they seek to win and govern from August 7 when the next Government will begin.

1. We strongly reject the dirty and negative campaign.

2. We will campaign without disqualifying or attacking our opponents.

3. In no case will we use the personal and intimate information of the candidates and

candidates.

4. We are committed to the truth and to the fight against “fake news”.

5. We repudiate the use of “trolls” and “bots” on social networks.

6. We reject any action of vandalism on public roads.

7. We will not receive a burden that comes from illicit business.

The aforementioned manifesto is made known in the context of the controversies that the candidate of the Historical Pact has faced, such as the so-called social pardon and the visits of his brothers Juan Fernando Petro to the La Picota prison in Bogotá.

That situation caused a harsh media show in the country, to the point that several members of Petro's campaign, such as Senator Roy Barreras, issued harsh scolding against the brother of the former mayor of Bogotá.

The Historic Pact campaign is so beautiful, the elected congressmen are a group of men and women environmentalists, animalists, human rights defenders. There are millions of Colombians who believe in the change that you want to end this tracheta culture and drug traffickingb, said Senator Barreras, who added:

In addition, Barreras indicated that: “It is not fair to millions of Colombians with the illusion of change. With respect, humility, but also with emphasis, I ask Mr. Juan Fernando Petro, whom I don't know, to ask forgiveness, for social forgiveness, the campaign, the leaders of the Covenant and Colombians who are excited about change.”

And he added “in good faith he took the bait and gave papaya. He who has to give social forgiveness to the Historical Pact campaign,” he concluded.

This statement was accompanied by a brief and sporadic response from Juan Fernando Petro, but which was recorded by the Infobae journalistic team. It is a triune in which he tells Senator Barreras that he has been working for forgiveness and peace for a significant time. It also points out that other people must request forgiveness.
