Team Medellín, through its technical director José Julián Velásquez, confirmed the invitation they made to it from the organization of the US competition Maryland Cycling Classic to the Colombian team for this 2022.

The squad, which usually stands out in the race calendar of the American continent and nationally, listens to the call to its team and is filled with pride in having on its competition agenda to compete in the North American race, which is also of the highest level, thus having part of the best teams in the world, as Velásquez said in a video uploaded to the team's social media.

The team from the capital of Antioquia has been doing a good season in international races as they did recently in the Vuelta a Formosa in Argentina where they won the runner-up with their rider Victor Ocampo and the title for best team of the competition.

They had previously competed in the Classic RPC Panama and the Vuelta a Guatemala where they won the subtitle with Aldemar Reyes in the general standings and a stage victory with Yeison Reyes.

Now they must prepare for the UCI America 1Pro race in the United States, seeking to bring the strongest riders to not only represent the team, but also to represent Colombia in the best way and especially the city of Medellin.

The roster for this competition would be announced close to the race, which will be on September 4, with the intention of bringing together the best of the American platoon together with great cyclists from teams that usually run in the World Tour in Europe such as Trek, EF, among others.

It is expected that the coffee team will be able to deliver a good presentation by then and that they will continue to leave the name of Colombian cycling well positioned.
