The mood within the Chamber of Deputies continues to be hot after the rejection of the Electric Reform promoted by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador (AMLO). This tension has caused any neglect to be pointed out and questioned by its opponents.

In this case, the slip could have been committed by Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, president of the board of directors of the lower house and member of the National Regeneration Movement (Morena), since on April 20 he played football within the legislative precinct.

Through his social networks, the politician posted a short video in which he is seen throwing a ball from the San Lazaro grandstand to former football player Luis Hernández, El Matador, who received it and sent it back to the last row of seats.

Learning the perfect pull up and ready to score many goals Cascarita with my countryman Luis' Matador 'Hernández”, was the message with which he accompanied the footage published on his official Twitter account.

Netizens immediately attacked the Morenista, including some opposition legislators who reproved this action. “What a sadness that you treat the compound in such an unworthy way President,” wrote Saraí Núñez-Cerón of the National Action Party (PAN).

For her part, Leticia Zepeda Martínez, also from the blue and white bench, questioned Gutiérrez Luna and called this video “shameful” because she used the venue where the country's legislative decisions are made as a football field.

“It is shameful that someone who claims to “represent” Mexicans, uses the honorable legislative precinct as a football field. As far as Morena's deputies have reached, it is literally seen that “they are going with the kick”. Deputy Sergio Gutiérrez Luna, respect the legislative precinct,” shared the PAN legislator.

The journalist specializing in legislative issues, Leticia Robles de la Rosa, said that this action was a lack of respect for the representation of Mexicans, and therefore demanded the removal of the president of the board of directors.

“Inconceivable. A president of the Chamber of Deputies. President of Congress uses the nation's highest rostrum as a football field. What a way to disrespect the representation of the Mexican people. This deserves his immediate removal from office. Reprehensible,” he wrote.

He later shared that this appeal could be fulfilled if article 61 of the Constitution was respected, which ensures the protection of the Chamber of Deputies. “The President of each House shall ensure respect for the constitutional jurisdiction of its members and the inviolability of the premises where they meet in session”, the Magna Carta reads.

In accordance with section 4 of article 19 of the Organic Law of the General Congress of the United Mexican States, the members of the board of directors may be removed by two thirds of the legislators present in the chamber, if they have taken any of the following actions:

- To seriously or repeatedly violate the provisions contained in the Constitution and this law.

- Failure to comply with the agreements of the Plenary, when the constitutional and legal powers of the Chamber are affected.

- To stop attending, repeatedly and without justified cause, the sessions of the Chamber or the meetings of the Board of Directors.

So far, Sergio Gutiérrez Luna has not responded to these comments, but it is expected that during the next few hours he will give his version and defend himself for having kicked a ball inside the arena for which he should watch.
