Santiago Ormeño was left without coach: Ariel Holan was fired from León in Liga MX

One more Peruvian abroad was left without a coach this week. After the announcement of DC United by Edison Flores after dismissing Hernán Losada, now the Lion of Liga MX decided not to count on Ariel Holan anymore, who led until this Thursday, April 21 to Santiago Ormeño, striker considered by Ricardo Gareca on the Peruvian national team.

According to Argentine journalist César Luis Merlo, his compatriot is no longer a strategist in the Mexican squad and now the club is looking for a new DT for the remainder of the season. The decision of the board was made because of the constant poor results in the Clausura Tournament.

Now 'Santi', who did not play against the 'Eagles', is waiting for the arrival of a new coach who will give him greater opportunities on the pitch.

On the other hand, in the 2021 Apertura Tournament he won eight wins, four losses and five draws, forming an irregular squad almost the entire time he was in command.

At his last press conference he did not make it clear whether he felt the support of his players. “The feeling is that while we were 11 against 11 we were better, or at least we had the best situations, when we were 10 against 11 we were able to tie the match and then the match broke down and that happened,” he replied when he was asked about that situation with the players.

Despite his ups and downs in recent seasons in Mexico, Ariel Holan is an Argentine coach with a lot of experience and who spent his best years at Independiente de Argentina. For this reason, it is one of the options that the Chilean national team manages to assume the position of coach for the next South American Qualifiers.

SANTIAGO ORMEÑO STAYED IN BANCA AGAINST AMERICA

The Peruvian national team striker stayed on the substitute bench in Pedro Aquino's 2-0 defeat to America. One of the main reasons were the three expelled players who had the commitment: the Mexican Jose Iván Rodríguez at 35 'of the match, the Chilean Victor Alejandro Davila at 55 'and the Colombian William Tesillo at 85 minutes.
