Relatives of Freddy Rincón don't believe the prosecution's version of his death

The brothers of the former footballer vallecaucano are wary of the video published by the research body and the inconsistencies that arose in the moment before the rescue and transfer to the clinic

After learning the new video released by the Attorney General's Office on the night of Wednesday, April 20, and the statement in which the investigating body concludes that Freddy Rincón was driving the vehicle at the time of the accident before he died, the doubts of the Colossus of Buenaventura family came out to the media.

Rafael Rincón, brother of the former footballer and idol of the Colombian national team in the 1990s, does not recognize as true what was stated by the Attorney General of the Nation, Francisco Barbosa Delgado from Medellín.

The first inconsistency that Rafael marks is that the time of the recording in which Freddy leaves the fast food restaurant located on Roosevelt Avenue with Carrera 39 is not clear and has not been revealed.

In addition, he points out that it is also not clear who is the man accompanying Rincón at the time he left the commercial establishment holding hands with a woman.

In front of Blu Radio's microphones, Freddy's brother said that he is not at all convinced with this version delivered by the authorities about the truth or hypothesis of the person directly responsible for the death of the former football player:

On the other hand, Teresa Rincón, also Freddy's sister, says she is wary of the outcome of the investigation presented by the Prosecutor's Office, given that the audiovisual film shows him the Colossus of Buenaventura wearing a shirt different from the one he was wearing when he was taken to the clinic.

In this regard, she insisted to Blu Radio and public opinion that the crashed van was driven by another person, so she demands that those who left after the accident show their faces and answer to the authorities for what happened:

In view of the fact that the left side of the vehicle was completely destroyed and with the airbags on the sides activated, several doubts arise about what really happened and caused the fatal accident that ended Rincón's life at 55 years old.

It should be noted that one of the paramedics of the rescue corps who attended the incident to transfer Rincón to the medical center after the van crashed into the MÍO bus, claims that he saw Freddy sitting in the seat of the driver of the vehicle, who did not suffer as much damage as he did to the seat of his supposed companion.

In this regard, the Prosecutor's Office will have to clarify once again whether Rincón was actually in the pilot's seat and did not move since he left the restaurant, or if, in fact, he could have changed places some time later or was forcibly transferred after the collision.

This is the video held by the Attorney General's Office in which they argue that Freddy was driving the UGR 410 Ford truck in Cali:

The Prosecutor's Office concluded that the vehicle carrying Freddy Rincón was being driven by him. This conclusion was supported by forensics in Legal Medicine, in technical studies and corroborated by witnesses inside the vehicle, as well as security cameras in the area,” said Francisco Barbosa in the most recent statement by the investigating body.
