Last weekend there was one of the most violent events in the history of live concerts in Mexico, it all happened when a man repeatedly stabbed a woman on the stage of a musical performance by the Mexican regional, Paco Barrón and his Norteños Clan, which recorded the video and after a few hours went viral.
After several days at a distance, the group's vocalist, Paco Barrón, broke the silence on various issues such as safety in his shows, his reaction to the femicide attempt, the performance of his security team and whether he stopped interacting with his fans during his shows.
The 45-year-old performer, born in Michoacán, was questioned in front of the cameras of the morning, Sale el Sol, about the case that took place at his concert on the night of April 18, there he first delved into his disbelief reaction to the attack and stressed that he will always ensure the safety of his followers while are present at one of their shows.
“I've seen blows, jerks, but seeing this kind of situation, I was taken out of 'what's up, what's up, what roll', so I say. So believe me that I will take the necessary measures when I am present at a concert or at an event and that my audience, first the public, I will guarantee that they are well,” said Paco Barrón.
The singer of tunes such as Mil Rosas en el Cielo, Red Card and If Life Pidieras did not hide his will to do something during the attack and explained that had it not been for the intervention by his security apparatus, he would have interceded to protect the follower who was violated.
“They were attacked, my group of security people were the ones who subjugated the person because if they hadn't subdued him, I would have gotten off the stage, I swear to them on my children,” stressed the interpreter of the northern genre.
Later, he was questioned by the cameras of the morning morning of Grupo Imagen as to whether the authorities of Nuevo León have already approached with his group to give their version of the events in the attempt at femicide.
“They are already doing it, I think they don't take up my statement, but if they need it, of course I'm going to be there, because I saw it, but obviously through all the social networks, through all the phones they realized that it was the ones that happened and they knew the physical name of the aggressor, so what more evidence do they want, there is already, but if they want my evidence, of course I'm going to provide,” he said.
Likewise, the creator of the group, Paco Barrón and his Norteños Clan, did not hide his desire to approach the victim and his family to reiterate his support: “I know that the lady is fine, because I am aware [...] I am aware of everything. When am I going to visit her? , when it is prudent when I am at home with his family, that is when I am going to do it”, recalled the Mexican singer-songwriter.
Finally, the regional singer-songwriter emphasized that he will not stop interacting with his followers during his shows, nor will he abandon the practice of giving flowers to the women in his audience.
“What happens is that it is a very nice song [...] what I do is that anyone who goes by selling flowers takes the flowers, buys them and said 'throw the whole package' and I start giving them away, with all due respect in front of the couple, husbands, boyfriends with all respect, but unfortunately something very tragic happened here”
