Hooded women of “Okupa” who took CNDH building will remain in prison in Santa Martha Acatitla

The Attorney General's Office of Mexico City (FGJ-CDMX) reported Wednesday afternoon that the three hooded women of the organization “Okupa Cuba Monumenta Viva” will stay at the Santa Martha Acatitla Women's Center for Social Reintegration.

A supervisory judge obtained the precautionary measure of preventive detention against Areli “N”, Magda “N” and Karla “N”, for their probable involvement in the crimes of qualified robbery and damage to gang property, after they were arrested on the night of last April 15 inside the offices of the National Human Rights Commission (CNDH), located on República de Cuba Street, in the Historic Center, which had been stripped for more than a year and a half.

In addition, on April 13, the daughter of a professor from the Autonomous Metropolitan University (UAM) reported on social networks that her mother was attacked by four women from Okupa when she was driving her car on that street.

According to the FGJ-CDMX investigation, the women intercepted the victim and demanded money from him to allow him to continue his journey in the vehicle he was crewing; failing to meet the demand, the victim was stripped of his cell phone and his car was vandalized.

In turn, the defence of the accused requested the duplication of the constitutional term to resolve their legal status, which was granted to them, so the supervising judge set next Monday, April 25 to continue the hearing.
