The man, who is a fugitive from justice, bit and beat the young woman in events that occurred in the south of Bolivar

The young Karen Mora Pineda, 19, will have to undergo three reconstructive surgeries after she lost a part of her nose in the middle of an attack by her former romantic partner, in the south of the department of Bolivar.

The facts were presented more precisely in the Las Palmeras village, located a few minutes from the municipality of Aguachica (Cesar). According to the account of the victim's relatives, she had been visited by her ex-husband, identified as Leonardo Guerra, who had asked her to move back together. However, in the face of the young woman's refusal, the man approached her on the grounds of kissing her goodbye “, and then hit her and bit her.

“At the time of the problem they weren't arguing, she told him she didn't want to go back to him and when he approached her to say goodbye he bit her. They were moments of confusion, she spilled a lot of blood and when she was taken to the town hospital they sent her to Aguachica and then to Valledupar,” said Denis Pineda, mother of the young woman, in statements collected by 'El país vallenato'.

According to the mother, the couple had already separated at least four or five months ago, but Guerra insisted that they resume the relationship. Likewise, he reported that these were distressing moments, since the woman did not stop crying. After the attack, doctors ended up referring Karen Mora to the Rosario Pumarejo de López Hospital, in Valledupar, as a result of the serious injuries.

Damaris Romero, plastic surgeon who attended the emergency, explained that the nose reconstruction will consist of three surgeries, of which one has already been completed. “The dead tissue was removed and covered with a frontal flap (segment of skin and tissue) to repair the wound on the nasal tip and at the level of the columella (part of the nose) to cover the defect. The perfection of this procedure takes about 30 days, then the affected part will have to be reshaped”, according to El Tiempo.

The aggressor, who is being sought by the authorities, was engaged in mining in southern Bolivar and, according to local reports, had had a four-year love relationship with Mora Pineda. In that span of time they had a daughter.

The mother of the affected woman confirmed that she has already filed the criminal complaint, trusting that the security forces will be able to carry out investigations to find out the whereabouts of the aggressor, because it is a danger to society”.

Karen's next appointment, who according to her mother is very psychologically affected, will be on May 16, at the Rosario Pumarejo Hospital in López.
