Eugenio Derbez responded to AMLO's invitation to dialogue: “The way will always be dialogue”

In addition, he thanked them for having recalled after assuring that someone had paid them to share the message “Save me from the train”

Andrés Manuel López Obrador, president of Mexico, reported during his most recent press conference that he wants to talk to the environmentalists, scientists, experts who attacked the Maya Train.

Days prior to electoral day to revoke the mandate and for International Water Day, artists launched a citizen awareness campaign to express their concerns about the modification of section 5 of the Mayan Train, which runs from Tulum to Cancun, without allegedly consulting with the people and respective studios of impact.

Andrés Manuel's first reaction was to say that someone had paid them to release that message, in addition tob referring to them as pseudo environmentalists, and even he told them conservatives, even fifis.

However, AMLO recalled at his most recent press conference, in which he assured that no one paid them, but it is a reflection of misinformation on the part of the signatories of the message, who he called for dialogue on the subject.

In this regard, one of the main protagonists of the criticism of section 5 of the Maya Train, Eugenio Derbez, a Mexican actor who, like his colleagues, said he was open to dialogue. In this regard, he applauded the fact that AMLO realized that the claims are not directed in a personal and harmful way against him.

“Indeed we saw that today, this morning, President López Obrador did the favor of inviting us to dialogue with him, which we are very happy because I think this is the way, having disqualified us at first I think it was going nowhere. The path will always be dialogue and we are grateful that this time you understood that we are not against it”, commented the director, producer and screenwriter.

He also added that it was a great success on the part of the head of the Federal Executive to recall the accusations that someone paid them to take the video in which they attacked Section 5 of the Maya Train.

In addition, he spoke particularly about the Mexican president's invitation, and said he was open to dialogue like his other colleagues, scientists and environmental experts; however, he stuck to the message of speaking in the area of events, not in Mexico City.

This is because those who should engage in a dialogue are directly the people involved in the construction of it, as well as the experts who first contacted the celebrities who launched the message through social networks.

“We are answering that we are open to dialogue, but we believe that going to the National Palace to talk would not be the right way because neither is he an expert nor are we. Sitting down and talking to tell us 'don't worry, everything is fine', it won't get us anywhere,” warned the Mexican comedian.

He concluded, he said that it will be the experts who “discuss the real points and find a solution and agreement. What better than doing it there on the spot, not thousands of miles away”

It was through social networks that those involved in the Sélvame del Tren campaign were grateful for the openness to dialogue and debate by the President of the Republic, so they reiterated that their only interest is the preservation of the natural habitat of the area.

It was through the same publication that the Mexican president was invited to travel to the area known as section 5 so that he could learn, from the first source, the needs that these are seen in the area.
