The Electoral Tribunal of the Judiciary of the Federation (TEPJF) sentenced Mexico City's head of government Claudia Sheinbaum on Thursday for violating the Mandate Revocation Law. The sentence, by unanimity of votes, was given because members of the body consider that the official violated the electoral ban imposed before the Mandate Revocation Consultation.
The head of government broke the law through a series of messages she shared through her Twitter account, inviting citizens to participate in the democratic exercise where Mexicans had the opportunity to vote for or against the continuation of Andrés Manuel López Obrador's mandate.
